We are incredibly honoured to have the Benedictine Monastery selected to represent Ireland in the biennial European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards 2026.

'The Prize highlights the achievements of European architects in the development of new concepts and technologies and provides citizens as well as public institutions with the opportunity to reach a better understanding of the importance of architecture in the construction of sustainable cities and communities where the essential relationship between the quality of life and the quality of the environment is a key priority'.

'The aim of the awards is to broadcast projects worldwide through exhibitions, debates, conferences, publications, press, and social media, and to improve our built and social environments'.

We are very proud of the collaborative effort of our great client, our design team partners, main contractor, sub-contractors, and suppliers in achieving this built project.

Results will be announced in Barcelona next May.
