Holy Cross Church Mahon , celebrating 40 years this year, celebrated a special mass last night on the church.

Fantastic to see so many great clubs and families celebrating this great milestone for the parish.

Ours U12s girls represented the club alongside Chairman Kieran Brett, Tony O'Connell, Joe Carroll & Gillian Higgins.

What a fantastic performance from our Under 12 Premier Girls! ❤️🖤

The girls produced an amazing first-half display, playing with great energy, confidence and determination. Reagan and Shauna both got themselves on the scoresheet, with the girls creating plenty of chances and putting in a brilliant team performance.

Leeside came out stronger in the second half and put us under a little pressure. They managed to pull a goal back from a rebound, but our girls responded brilliantly and continued to work hard right until the final whistle.

Shauna was incredibly unlucky not to add to her tally, hitting both the post and the crossbar and coming agonisingly close on several other occasions. On another day, she could easily have finished with another three or four goals!

All in all, it was a fantastic performance from **1 to 12**, with every girl playing their part and showing great teamwork, effort and commitment.

A brilliant day's work, girls — you should all be very proud of yourselves!

Carrigline United 0–1 Ringmahon Rangers

On a tough afternoon for our young Ringers, ravaged by injury and sickness in the camp, Ringmahon produced a stellar and stunning display to come away from a difficult Carrigline venue with all three points.

Ringmahon started the game on the back foot, but stand-in goalkeeper Isabel Santos, alongside the excellent Kaylee Swords, Sīun O’Neill and Roisin Kent, stood firm and kept Carrigline at bay.

After the opening five minutes, Ringmahon settled into the game, with the ever-impressive Ava Stack putting in a monstrous performance in the middle of the park alongside Willow Hourihan and Lexie Donovan, who were all superb throughout the encounter.

Out wide, Regan onoh covered every blade of grass, while the outstanding Regan Heffernan caused Carrigline constant problems on the left. Up front, the livewire pairing of Shauna Onoh and Belle Higgins continually tested the Carrigline defensive line.

Ringmahon created their first real opening following a fantastic run from Regan Heffernan down the left. Her brilliant cross flashed across the box and was desperately unlucky not to be converted.

Another opportunity soon followed, again involving the dangerous Heffernan, whose cross found Shauna Onoh, who was unfortunate not to find the net.

Then came the breakthrough.

With the first half coming towards a close, Willow Hourihan playing in midfield for the day, produced an absolutely stunning 25-yard strike, which looped into the top corner to give Ringmahon a deserved 1–0 lead at half-time.

The second half was a tense affair, with Carrigline going toe-to-toe with our young girls. But once again, the Ringers stood firm, defending brilliantly while continuing to create chances at the other end.

The bench also made a huge contribution, with Isabel Downey, Georgia Di Piero and Brooklyn O’Brien coming on and making a massive impact as Ringmahon battled their way to the final whistle.

A fantastic team effort from every single player.

The victory sees Ringmahon move to nine points from nine from possible 9 at the top of table to start their campaign, with another titanic battle now awaiting next week against the brilliant Riverstown side at Ringmahon Park.
