Spicy mc spicy pants...AKA otterton has left the building. I dropped otterton to our amazing friends in Kildare Wildlife Rescue who will continue to rear our cub. Otters take a huge amount of care, time and finances. Feeding fish for over a year to these cubs is a huge undertaking.
Kildare do spectacular work around Ireland and we are very lucky to have them. They happen to have 4 other cubs as well in their care. We know our cub will be well cared for....even if she is putting them through their paces with her expensive cork fish tastes.... sorry Dan 😂🥰
She became quite the spicy bitey little soul the last few days before she left and we LOVE TO SEE IT. Wildlife being wild. She overcame a lot with us in the weeks she was here including severe dehydration and a nasty foot infection. She is now in the best place for long term success. Good luck little bug.

We do love a good baby pigeon at the rescue 🥰
For some reason we have gotten a good few tiny baby wood pigeons in. These two have found comfort in each other in the incubator and receiving a lot of care from our wonderful Mel and team.
Pigeons have no concept of adhering to 'baby season' and keep popping out children here there and everywhere. 😂
Luckily they are one of my absolute favourites.

Just out here trying to survive...and picking up not 1, not 2...but 3 fishing hooks on your body. One inside his mouth with line going under his chest to another line in his foot and then a line completely wrapping his wing at a bad angle and a massive weight attached.💔

He eventually 'luckily' got himself caught on chicken wire with the weight getting him completely stuck.
He was lucky where he landed as the nicest people set about trying to help him in this inaccessible area. Placing lots of plastic lids to help him stand on something and gave him a bowl of water until Jass arrived. With the help of others and long wire cutters she was able to take him in to safety. As mentioned above what this poor gully has gone through in his little life is awful. The wing is swollen from the line being around it. He has recieved veterinary attention and we will do all we can for him.

Although the story starts with discarded rubbish I always like when the story ends with the nicest people ever doing all they can to help a little soul....Just because they can. ❤️

I very stupidly said to someone the other day, 'oh I think we are over the hump and on other side of crazytime'...enter 3 more leverets for Julie. As Leverets are very vulnerable to stress I do the bulk of the handrearing to keep it consistent with a bit of help from our wonderful Mel. 🥰
My last leveret is nearly at freedom age and now I'm back to the start again.....but they are gorgeous.

Otterton is going straight to jail! A crime has been committed. A violent assault on her best friend, Mr. Sealington the third. 😂🥰
Otterton loves to play and having someone you can rough and tumble with is important. Like I said she will soon have company from fellow ottertons in Kildare. 🥰
Today a finder dropped off a poorly gull to us..and gave us some donated salmon for poor gully as they work in a fishing place. How flipping nice is that?????
Now otterton for safety reasons said she must taste test it.Just to be safe you understand. 🥰

A beautiful heron was released recently down the marina. Paloma and Celia got to wear fashionable life vests and helmets and allowed access to the pontoon then from the lovely gang at the rowing club.
He came into care after being found on the lee road and very weak. After a bit of TLC he is back home. 🥰
