🚒🇮🇪 BEST OF LUCK MARTIN & JOHN! 🇺🇸🚒

Wishing our fellow firefighters Martin Sweeney and John O’Connor the very best of luck as they take on an incredible 343-mile fundraising cycle from Boston to New York in aid of Friends of Firefighters.

The gruelling cycle will finish at the 9/11 Memorial Park in New York, where a special ceremony will take place to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and to remember all those who lost their lives, as well as those who were injured and the families left behind.

Martin and John will be joined along the way by their firefighter colleagues from Kerry and other fire services across Ireland, making this a truly special show of solidarity between firefighters on both sides of the Atlantic. 🇮🇪🤝🇺🇸

This is an incredible challenge for a very worthy cause, and we wish Martin and John, and everyone taking part, a safe journey and the very best of luck.

Stay safe lads, and make every mile count! 💪🚒🇮🇪🇺🇸

Today we remember and honour the life of Padraig McKenna, a man whose name was long associated with service, skill, and quiet dedication to his community.
Padraig served with pride in Di**le Fire Brigade, standing shoulder to shoulder with a crew who gave their time and courage to protect the people of the town and surrounding areas. In those days, being a firefighter was not just a role — it was a commitment to neighbours, friends, and strangers alike. Padraig answered that call with reliability and calmness, earning the respect of all who served alongside him.
Beyond his time in the brigade, Padraig was widely known as a skilled builder. Through his hands, many homes and buildings took shape, leaving a lasting mark on the landscape of the community. His workmanship, like his service, was solid, dependable, and built to last.
The photograph above shows Padraig, third from the right, with his old crew — all of whom have now passed on. Together they represent a generation of men who gave so much without seeking recognition, simply doing what needed to be done.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his loving wife Siobhan, and to his children Seamus, Ciara, Eimear, and Deirdre at this very sad time.
May we remember Padraig with gratitude for his service, respect for his craft, and appreciation for the legacy he leaves behind.
May he rest in peace.

All at Dublin Fire Brigade are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend David Stafford, Badge 750.

Dave joined Dublin Fire Brigade as an Emergency Service Controller and worked his way to Firefighter/Paramedic.

Based in North Strand, David was an exceptionally well-liked and well thought of young man and Firefighter/Paramedic, in every aspect of his life and work, he held an exemplary record in DFB.

He will be sorely missed by all, especially his crew in North Strand.
