Hawklion

“perfectly pitched, rabble-rousing angular poise” (Jim Carroll, The Irish Times)

“pop sensibilities of Duran Duran..custom made for major labels...nothing short of superb” (wearenoise)

Formed from the ashes of Dublin indie guitar crunchers The Looks, Hawklion combine the grooves of Metronomy and delicate musical shifts of Foals fused with the pop beauty of Duran Duran. The band hid out in their makeshift studio, trying any instrument they could get their hands on (including ones they salvaged from skips) crafting the Hawklion aesthetic that was first revealed in 2013 when the band released their debut EP Gold & Silver. The EP1 and EP2 were bothincredibly well received with UK airplay on both BBC Radio 1 and XFM, and love shown on seminal rock show Across the Line. Now, having been almost chronically in the studio, Hawklion return to debut new material. Boasting monstrous hooks and alongside subtle, soulful songs, the new music builds on what went before. While returning to massive guitar based songs, Hawklion have maintained the pop sensibilities that saw them receive such great reviews (Irish Times, Hotpress, wearenoise, Nialler9)

Hawklion are performing a once off gig to celebrate the release of their latest single “I Got You”. The band describe it as a special show that will showcase the massive amount of new material they have been writing and offers a “Window into what they’ve been up to for the last number of months”

“I Got You” is soon available to download on itunes and stream on spotify, apple music, bandcamp and soundcloud.
