🚧 Update: Bernadette’s Pathworks 🚧
Local park pathway in the Walkinstown / Greenhills area of Dublin.
Works on the kissing gate at Bernadette’s are underway this morning.
Following local feedback about the detour, the small pedestrian gate midway between Bernadette’s and Striders has now been unlocked to help improve access.
Parks will continue to monitor how the gate is used and will address any issues if they arise.

🚧 Ranelagh Gardens Playground – Temporary Closure Notice
Dublin City Council wishes to advise local residents’ associations, park users and the general public that Ranelagh Gardens Playground will be closed from 15 June to 31 July 2026 (7 weeks).
🔧 Reason for Closure:
The closure is necessary to facilitate:
• Repairs and upgrades to the playground
• Improvements to existing play equipment
• Installation of additional teen-focused facilities
📍 Alternative Playgrounds Nearby:
• Belgrave Square, Rathmines
• Tranquilla Park, Rathmines
• Herbert Park
• Palmerston Park (recently refurbished and reopening soon)

🚧 Bushy Park Improvement Works – Starting Monday 8 June
Dublin City Council would like to inform local residents, park users, and the wider community that groundworks will commence in Bushy Park from Monday, 8 June.
📍 Location:
• Boules grounds
• Grassed area beyond the Tennis Club
🔧 Works will include:
• Upgrade of the boules area
• Realignment of tennis court fencing
• Installation of hard-standing surface for weekend markets
⚠️ Please note:
• Temporary restricted access in parts of the park
• Some construction noise during working hours
• Efforts will be made to minimise disruption
These improvements aim to enhance facilities for all park users and support the popular weekend markets. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

🚧 Notice of Works – Eamonn Ceannt Park 🚧
Parks Services will be replacing the existing kissing gate at the Bernadette’s entrance from Sundrive Road into Eamonn Ceannt Park. The current gate is weathered and beyond repair.
Works will begin on Wednesday, 10 June and are expected to take a couple of days.
🚶♀️ Please note: There will be no pedestrian access via this entrance during the works. Alternative entrances to the park will remain open.

📢 Grow College Green – Strong Public Support Announced
Dublin City Council has published the Pre-Planning Design Consultation Report for the Grow College Green project—and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. 🙌
✅ Over 1,800 submissions received
✅ 81.2% support for the proposals
People have shown clear backing for a safer, greener, and more accessible city centre, with strong support for:
🚶♂️ Prioritising pedestrians
🚴♀️ Cycling access
🌿 Greening & biodiversity
🏛️ Enhancing Dublin’s historic civic space
Feedback on accessibility, safety, and connectivity will now help shape the final design before planning is submitted later this summer.
🌆 This is an exciting step towards creating a vibrant, people-first College Green for everyone.
