The next Tallaght Littermugs clean up event is on Saturday 11th July at 10:30am. We're giving plenty of notice so please mark the date in your diary. If you haven't been out picking litter for a while why not join us for a little while? Details are as follows

Great Big All-Ireland Hedgehog Count 8th to 14th June 2026


SDCC is encouraging you to take part in the inaugural 'Great Big All-Ireland Hedgehog Count' starting today by recording all hedgehog sightings in South Dublin County on the National Biodiversity Data Centre website



Hedgehog numbers are in decline across Europe and your participation in the hedgehog count will assist in understanding the hedgehog numbers in Ireland. Hedgehog Conservation Ireland is encouraging people all across the country to make an extra big effort to look for hedgehogs in their garden, local park, green areas or woods. Hedgehogs become active at dusk and please admire them from a distance as it is very important that we do not disturb the hedgehogs or their nests during the count.
