Very sad news from our neighbours. Rest In Peace Zach

We are all deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Zach Chard-Ryan, one of those genuinely lovely souls who we were privileged to have represent us in the red and blue, from the underage ranks, through to being a member of our 2021/22 AIL winning squad.

Words alone cannot express our sympathy to Zach’s parents, girlfriend, siblings and extended family at this dreadful time, but on behalf of all of members in Clontarf Rugby Club, we offer our deepest condolences. Rest in Peace Zach.

A very special morning at Suttonians RFC! 🏉🌍

On Saturday, we were honoured to welcome the New Zealand, Japanese and British Ambassadors to Ireland to Suttonians RFC for breakfast ahead of the New Zealand v Ireland Nations Championship match.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our club, our strong international rugby connections and the incredible Suttonians community.

To make the morning even more special, just under €1,450 was raised for Variety - the Children's Charity of Ireland, supporting children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disabilities.

A huge thank you to the three Ambassadors and to everyone who helped make the morning such a memorable occasion.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who have donated their time and given up their Wednesday evenings over the past two weeks. The improvement to our grounds and pitches has been very noticeable, and we greatly appreciate everyone’s hard work!

However, we still have more to do!

We are calling on our members to join us for another Pitch & Grounds Clean-Up this Wednesday, starting at 7pm.

Whether you can give 20 minutes, an hour or two, any help would be greatly appreciated. Every pair of hands makes a difference!

We hope to see you there!

A huge thank you to all our distinguished guests who joined us ahead of the Ireland v New Zealand match — Ambassador Angela Hassan-Sharp (New Zealand), Ambassador Kara Owen (United Kingdom) and Ambassador Miyagawa Manabu (Japan),. It was a real honour to welcome you all to our club. We hope to welcome you back soon.

A special thanks to Ambassador Hassan-Sharp and her team at the New Zealand Embassy for making this event possible — and a particular shout-out to our own Daryl Owens (NZ Embassy) and Emer Litchfield , whose hard work and organisation made the morning such a success.

We were also delighted to support Variety - the Children's Charity of Ireland , on the day. Variety does incredible work supporting children with special needs and their families right across Ireland, and it was a privilege to shine a light on their efforts. Mornings like this remind us of what rugby is really about — bringing people, communities, and even countries together. Thank you to everyone who made it so special. 💚
