Skullet, Mullet, Chelsea, or freehand razor work. Niamh knows that hair isn’t about fitting in. It’s about looking like yourself. Less “Should I?” More “Why not?”.

Not everything q***r has to come with a rainbow.

Sometimes it looks like a hawk. An inverted triangle. A heart.

Three symbols. Three stories.

The hawk represents freedom. The inverted triangle is a symbol our community reclaimed from hate and turned into one of pride and defiance. The heart reminds us that love, care and community are at the centre of everything we do.

Our logo isn’t just branding. It’s a quiet nod to our history, our resilience and everything Q***r Hawk stands for.

Because Q***r Hawk was never meant to be just another salon. It’s a space built by q***r people, for everyone, where you can show up exactly as you are.

Now you know 💖🦅

For us, it’s seeing that sparkle in your eyes right here in our shop.

It’s that moment when you look in the mirror and see your truth, your real self, no filters, no fear.

At Q***r Hawk, we believe self-care is an act of self-love and celebration.

But beyond our chairs, we want to know:
What makes you feel like your best self?

Share your magic in the comments. 👇

Felix Oliveira is a gay hair stylist of Afro-Indigenous heritage, originally from the Northeast of Brazil. He works where texture, memory, and identity meet. Specialising in Afro hair; curls, coils, colour, braids, what he really shapes goes far beyond the chair.

His work is unapologetically political, rooted in an understanding that hair is never just hair. It’s language. It’s resistance. It’s a living archive of plural bodies, histories, and futures that refuse to be flattened or erased.

Felix moves through his craft with intention, building a career at the intersection of artistry and critical dialogue around Black aesthetics and identity. Braiding, in particular, becomes a site of deep study and reverence, not just technique, but tradition, lineage, and coded knowledge passed from hand to hand.

Through his work, braids speak. Patterns carry memory. Texture holds story. Colour becomes declaration. Each style is an act of preservation and celebration, honouring the vast, layered beauty of Afro hair in all its forms. Complex, defiant, and fully alive.

🌿🌈 Big news from the nest!

Q***r Hawk is joining the Green Salon Collective, a global movement helping salons recycle waste and care for the planet.

From next week, the hair we cut will be recycled and repurposed even turned into mats that help clean up oil spills instead of going to landfill.

With Global Recycling Day this Wednesday, it feels like the perfect time to take this step towards a more sustainable salon.

Caring for the planet is q***r too 💚🌱🦅
