Learn the art of Electronic Music Production with Ableton Live & Maschine
The wise scauldy owl states what seems obvious, but can be overlooked. Yeah.
It's the little tweaks to volume, automation and filters that really separate a good track from one that needs work.
Peppa Pig Techno!
In this week's episode, Peppa, George, Daddy, and Mammy pig attend a family fun day. Things changed when Jeremy Pig, Peppas' mischievous half-brother from Daddy Pigs first marriage, hijacked the aux cable for the events music and stuck on The Dawn by Tony De Vit. What started as a day of merriment and joy quickly turned into an all-night rave. Daddy Pig bundled Mammy and the kids into a taxi and ended up drinking a bottle of Buckfast with his old college pals, with hilarious consequences.
The fun part is generating ideas, but the magic comes after.
Get out of the loop and get those tracks done. Box them off, play them to people. Get them dancing. That's what it's all about.
Another tech tip from the scauldiest lad in the land.
This is an important one, especially when making music that will be played on big systems.
Vocal deep house?
Experimenting with my larynx in this one. It's always interesting playing around with a new genre. I always like to generate chord progressions and change the octave of the notes to get a groove together quite quickly.
Worth a try, but I may stick to the Techno. Inspired by breakfast.
Dj Neckbrace has some scauldy words of wisdom
Variation is what gives your track depth and keeps the listener interested. Create some tension, and keep the flow.
Can I make Techno vocals from Dot Cotton?
I always remember seeing ol' Dot on the telly when I was a young lad, puffing away on smokes. She had a calm and pleasant demeanour. Shout out to her family.
No one was ever good at the start.
This goes for anything, not just music. Even someone who has an ear for music still had to put in the time and learn the art and science behind making a good track. The harvest will be sweet. You'll be handing out apples like penny sweets in 2003.
Can anyone relate to self-inflicted slaps to the head?
If you're just not feeling it, give yourself some space, then go back to it with a clear mind. A small break can really help you see a project with fresh perspective.
Delighted to welcome a special guest on this week's episode.
