The Creative Ireland Programme is an invitation to the entire country to get involved in something truly inspirational. Creative Ireland is the Government’s Legacy Programme for Ireland 2016 – a five-year initiative, from 2017 to 2022, which places creativity at the centre of public policy. Creative Ireland will bring an enhanced level of coordination, focus and leadership to existing policies and initiatives across national and local government, State agencies, the arts and culture sector, Gaeltacht and Irish language organisations, and will provide linkages to the private business and NGO sectors. Are you an artist, creative or healthcare professional interested in the role creativity can play in health and wellbeing? Join Let’s Get Social dlr, a new series of free workshops bringing people together to share ideas, make connections and explore creative practice in healthcare contexts.

Facilitated by visual artist Caroline Schofield, the sessions offer a welcoming space to connect, exchange experiences and discover different approaches to creative health. The workshops are Free to attend.

Creativity, conversation and connection in Galway!

Design Mingle: Creative Connections brings together creatives, professionals, students and the public for a six-part series of inspiring talks and networking at CREW in Galway.

Each session features a guest speaker exploring the intersection of creativity with themes including cultural rights, health, community and climate action, followed by informal networking and opportunities to connect, share ideas and spark new collaborations.

Ready to bring your stories to life?

Join storyteller Madge O’Callaghan for a six-week creative writing programme at Sean Lemass Library in Shannon. Through writing exercises, discussion and creative prompts, participants will explore character, setting, dialogue, structure and voice.

Perfect for beginners and more experienced writers alike, with plenty of opportunities to write, experiment and share ideas in a supportive setting.
The programme takes place at Sean Lemass Library, Shannon from the 7th of September – 12th October 2026, Mondays, 2–4pm, Ages 18+.

Creativity meets climate action in Ballyhoura.

Cappamore, Castleconnell, Charleville, Croom, Kilmallock and Mitchelstown will become Creative Climate Community Hubs through SENSE the Change Ballyhoura, one of 11 projects supported nationally through Creative Ireland’s Creative Climate Action Fund III.

Over three years, communities will use creativity and the five senses to explore climate change, connect with their local environment and inspire practical, locally led action.

Paid opportunities are also open for artists and creatives, local food producers, growers, home bakers, photographers and videographers.

Harvest Sessions is hitting the road in Louth!

This October, Festival in a Van will bring live music directly to communities across County Louth, transforming local spaces into vibrant outdoor stages.
Taking place across four locations over two days, the tour invites residents, families and neighbours to come together and enjoy live performances right on their doorstep.

Shared Visions: creativity, connection and community in Donegal

Celebrating participation, resilience and inclusion in Kerry.

Kerry Local Creative Youth Partnership recently premiered Ciarán – A PAL’s Voice, a short film highlighting the positive impact Ireland’s National Youth Award programme has had on remarkable young adults across Kerry.

Premiered at Inspired Day Centre in Tralee, the film celebrates the power of participation, connection and inclusion, and what can happen when young people are supported to have their voices heard.

­Nine artists and artist organisations have been awarded more than €275,000 through the Arts and Early Learning Childcare Scheme.

The scheme provides opportunities for babies and young children to discover, explore and enjoy the arts, supported by artists, early years educators, school-age practitioners, families and carers.

Climate action must include every voice.

Inclusive Climate Futures for All: No One Is Left Behind, led by Atlantic Technological University, is one of 11 projects supported through Creative Climate Action Fund III.

Working with students and graduates from Project WAVE, alongside Corlann Roscommon and HAIL residents, the initiative will use creativity and collaboration to ensure people with intellectual disabilities play a central role in shaping conversations and solutions around climate action.
