On Sunday Dungarvan U16s travelled to Thurles. The game kicked at 11 and Dungarvan attacked from the start.
They applied pressure and were rewarded with an early. A good start and was followed by some good attacking play which was initially thwarted by thurles but not for long. Dungarvan scored again.
The direct running and strong attacking play was opening the thurles defence.
Dungarvan tagged on few more scores before half time most notably a score from a lineout maul.
A number of changes were made after half time and this gave thurles more attacking options. Some strong running by thurles was met with hard tackles and some excellant poaching. Both sides added to the scoreline but dungarvan won out well at the end.
Thanks to all who travelled for the early start, and to thurles for after match refreshments.
Training Tuesday and Thursday 7.30pm all interested are welcome.

New Season, New Group for Many, and a New Surface, as Sunday saw a very healthy sized group of Dungarvan Under 8's and U7 take off on their travels for their first Blitz of the Season at Waterpark RFC who were proud to show off their new astro turf pitch which was the venue where the younger minis did battle that morning.

Almost thirty between both groups arrived bright and early and were met at the Clubhouse by Coaches presenting them with their Club Colours ready to represent Dungarvan RFC after a brisk warm up and a jog around the new facility which is a great addition to their Club alongside their two new Paddle Courts.

They took on Tramore RFC and Waterpark and for what was many's first 'competitive action' we were delighted with how they both played and represented the shirt.

It is a steep learning curve going through a few weeks training and then facing your first opponents from our neighbouring clubs and they handled it superbly.
So a very big well done from all your Coaches.

Thanks to all the parents and guardians who I hope the morning of rugby, (a few ankle taps in one of the U8 games made a few wince), but we ruled that out if the game and had them focus on their tackling which has come a long way in a short time.

I believe Dungarvan had the most numbers of players of all the Clubs attending so that is fantastic going forward for Dungarvan RFC.

Thanks to Waterpark RFC, great hosts as always, many a smiling face covered in ketchup heading home after enjoying their excellent food and refreshments which every player richly deserved.

Well done to our U16 boys who were away to Thurles RFC today. Well done to our U16s on their win today🏉🏉.

Action shots from U18.5 boys team match against Clonmel RFC on Saturday 🏉.

Dungarvan RFC girls and women’s training sessions are back 🏉🏉 (U14-18 also train Wednesdays 7-8.15pm).

Some action shots from Dungarvan Waterpark U14 girls against Cobh/Kinsale/Muskerry/Old Christians 🏉🏉.

Well done to Dungarvan Waterpark U14 girls in their win against Cobh/Kinsale/Muskerry/Old Christians in Cobh on Friday night under lights. A great display of rugby from both teams in a strong competitive match. Huge thanks to Cobh for organising pizza afterwards for all the girls 🏉.

Best of luck to all the teams for an action packed weekend. Best of luck to the Ireland Women's Rugby team against Japan at Virgin Media Park!!
