Well done to our U13s boys who won their opening league match today against Ballina RFC on a scoreline of 50-7. The full match report will be featured in this week’s Roscommon Herald and Roscommon People.

The J1A Men’s captain Brian Diffley receives the Cawley plate from John Carr after their excellent performance against Ballinasloe today 🏆

The final score line ended at 34-19. The men’s now look onto the first round of the J1A league where they play Westport away on the 10th of October 🇱🇻

Creggs U18 girls played their first league game at home against Sligo today 🏉🏉

Sligo got off to a great start scoring two early tries, but Creggs came back into the game when Kayla Walsh ran a great line and broke a tackle to get behind the sligo defence and scored under the post. Grace Shaughnessy popped over the conversion.

The Creggs forwards started to up their game as they grew into the game. Emily Kelly got in for a try and Shaughnessy landed the conversion.

Creggs finished the half with another try, this time tight head Kate Madden touched down after some great interplay between backs and forwards.

The second half started well for Creggs when a quick tap and go from Lola Glennon on the 22 after sligo strayed offside at a ruck, Glennon got tackled 5 meters out and Myah Madden picked up the ball to score under the post. Shaughnessy converted again.

Mattea Cox rounded out the game with a try from close range with 5 minutes to go. The two teams were very evenly matched and the score doesn’t reflect the effort of the sligo girls who were hard to break down in defence.

Congratulations to Siún McElgunn who came on to play her first game of rugby today. Today was truly a team effort so let’s keep it going girl’s!

Training continues Tuesday at 8pm. 🇱🇻
