Thanks to everyone who attended and supported our table quiz last night and especially thanks to Philip and Michael McGovern for hosting us. 22 teams of 4 fought it out for the title with the title going down to a tiebreaker question between “Denis’s Dopes” led by Denis Travers and Big Joe Kinch who had the amazing ability to turn a team of 4 into a team of 14 and “Moist Knowledge” led by Lexie Bell and her freakish knowledge of renaissance artists and Kerry Gaelic footballer David Clifford. A special word to the wooden spoon boys who unlike the eventual winners conducted themselves with integrity on the night and bring home beautiful handcrafted one of a kind gorey rangers bamboo spoons to use in their culinary adventures in the future.

Pictured below are the winners, runners up and wooden spooners.

** winning team photo incomplete as not enough room to get photo of the full panel we will get a full team photo in the coming days.

4th Team Match Report

Gorey Rangers 8-0 Tombrack United

Our 4th team got their first win of the season early Sunday morning with a strong win at Ramstown.

A first half hatrick from Oisín Woolmington and a goal a piece from Jamie Heffernan and Piaras O’Neill made it five heading into halftime with some excellent football throughout from the goalkeeper all the way through to the forward line.

Efforts from Jamie Keating, Adam Bell and a second from Piaras capped off the scoring to seal the three points.

A great performance from the entire squad with everyone working tirelessly for each other and some lovely passages of play from start to finish
