The new main substation in Nørre Alslev, Falster, marks an important milestone as the first of 15 transformer substations being delivered for NEXEL/Cerius to strengthen and future-proof Denmark’s electricity grid.

We are delighted to hand over the first completed substation to NEXEL/Cerius. Our collaboration has been positive and constructive, with a shared focus on delivering substations that are reliable, efficient and easy to operate and maintain for decades to come. With the first station now complete, the foundation is in place to accelerate delivery across the wider programme.

The new facility replaces a single 10 MVA transformer with two 40 MVA transformers, significantly increasing capacity to meet growing electricity demand and support continued electrification.

With further substations already progressing across the programme, the ambition is to have the first seven operational by the end of 2027.

A significant step forward in delivering the resilient energy infrastructure needed to power the transition to a more electrified future.

Our H&MV Engineering team - Lydie, Nigel, Tom, Roberta and Michael - took on the 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝, running in support of The Lighthouse Charity and The Percy Hedley Foundation. Together, they raised an incredible £5,000 for charity – an amazing achievement for two worthy causes!

As the world’s largest half marathon, the Great North Run brings together more than 60,000 participants each year, raising millions of pounds for charitable causes.

It was a fantastic challenge and a great reflection of the H&MV team’s commitment to community, fundraising and making a positive impact beyond our projects.

We’re proud to celebrate Adam Long, BIM Coordinator at H&MV, as he represents Team Ireland at WorldSkills Shanghai.

Adam’s WorldSkills journey began in 2021, when he competed in the Irish Nationals and placed 3rd. In 2022, he won the Irish Nationals before going on to represent Ireland at EuroSkills Gdańsk in 2023.

After continuing to compete and develop his skills, Adam secured his place on Team Ireland once again in 2025, earning the opportunity to compete at the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai.

A fantastic achievement and a testament to Adam’s dedication, skill and commitment to Digital Construction.

Dahlem BESS Project Milestone Update

We're pleased to share another key milestone achieved on the Dahlem Battery Energy Storage System project in Germany, developed by Kyon Energy and delivered in collaboration with our project partners.

A significant milestone has been reached with the successful energisation of the new 110 kV substation, including the connection of two high-voltage transformers to the grid.

This achievement follows extensive grid connection works, testing, and commissioning activities carried out by the H&MV team in close coordination with Kyon Energy and the local grid operator.

The successful energisation represents an important step towards full commissioning and commercial operation of the battery energy storage facility.

A huge thank you to our project team and partners for their continued commitment, collaboration, and focus on delivering the project safely and efficiently.

We’re delighted to announce that H&MV Engineering has joined the 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐞𝐭 𝐙𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐭, an industry initiative bringing together organisations committed to delivering a fair and just transition to a net zero future.

The Pact focuses on five key areas: net zero carbon emissions, protecting the natural environment, a circular economy, fair work and sustainable jobs, and positive outcomes for local communities.

As a signatory, H&MV is strengthening its commitment to sustainability and net zero, while collaborating with industry partners to share best practice, accelerate decarbonisation and support a more sustainable and resilient energy system.

⛳️ What a week it was at the 2026 Amgen Irish Open at Doonbeg, Co. Clare.

From the excitement of the Pro-Am to seeing H&MV Engineering branding across the course, it was fantastic to see our partnership at the Amgen Irish Open come to life on home soil.

It was also fantastic to see our brand making an impact throughout the tournament and to welcome guests to experience one of the biggest events in Irish sport.

We’re proud to support professional golf in Ireland and look forward to continuing our partnership with the Amgen Irish Open.
