Culture Night is the perfect time to celebrate Limerick's cultural legacy, & this year Limerick Printmakers will be highlighting all that is iconic about the city through the magic of silkscreen printmaking.

Limerick Printmakers will have a wide range of Limerick's favourite landmarks & places ready to screen print by hand, drawn from the city's love of history, sport, outdoor spaces, food & drink.
We'll also have some funky patterns & shapes in the mix to ensure everyone can create a print that's truly unique to them.

The LP team & some of our fantastic studio members will be on hand to assist everyone who comes to print on Culture Night.

Please note that while the last intake is scheduled for 8.45pm, if we have a large queue still waiting inside the studio at that time,
we may have to stop taking people a little earlier than 8.45pm so we advise you to get to LP earlier in the evening to avoid disappointment.  

LP' ICONIC LIMERICK Quiet Hour from 5.30pm - 6.30pm is now fully booked.

Please note that due to the age of the LP building & its status as a protected structure, LP is not wheelchair accessible at this time.

Print Network Ireland is part of the VAI café today at VAI Get Together 2026 at TU Dublin, Grangegorman! The Cafe is a vital centre of Get Together each year, featuring stands from resource organisations that support artists’ careers, including galleries, funders, studios, colleges, archives, and more.

The theme this year is Life: being a visual artist.

As part of Limerick City and County Council's Summer in the City this August, Limerick Printmakers invites families, teens, and the young at heart to join us for a fun, free family chalk drawing event as we transform the street into a giant outdoor canvas!

On Saturday 29th August from 1pm to 3pm, our team of artists will be on hand to help children and young people of all ages and their families and together we will colourful chalk artworks across O Connell Avenue

Please note the 9 - 12 years class is fully booked but we are still taking names for the waiting list.

Limerick Printmakers is delighted to officially announce that LSAD Printmaking Contemporary Practice graduate Roisin Maher
was recently awarded the LP Printmaking Bursary at the LSAD graduate exhibition.

The LP team were impressed by the personal visual language she created within her installation to invoke the impact of the broader Irish housing crisis, using a wide range of techniques including hand printed wallpaper motifs, CMYK screen-printing, looped moving image sequences, and soft sculptures.

Roisin will now avail of an award that includes complementary studio membership for one year, a small cash prize, hours of bespoke mentoring from printmakers of her choice both within & outside LP,
and a materials budget to assist her in producing a small edition that will become part of LP' permanent archive. 

As Roisin explains 'The Irish Housing Crisis is often discussed through statistics, politics and economics, but I approach the topic through lived experience.
Shared bedrooms, thin walls and constant movement become evidence of a broader issue, the loss of permanent space.
Young people in Ireland have to face the social embarrassment of never moving out of their childhood bedroom.
The idea of owning a house in Ireland feels like a distant dream rather than a future possibility. 
I have created a series of tactile sculptures of houses to cope with navigating the overwhelming complexities of housing in Ireland.
I have chosen to centre my work around living in my childhood bedroom, a place that once provided a feeling of comfort and security but now fosters a sense of defeat and setback'    

Limerick Printmakers looks forward to supporting Roisin as her artistic practice and career develops over the coming year.

Cruinniú na nÓg 2026: MIX + MATCH SILKSCREEN PRINTING FOR AGES 6 - 16 YRS/ THIS SATURDAY 6TH JUNE

In celebration of Cruinniú na nÓg 2026, Limerick Printmakers will be welcoming children & young people aged 6 - 16 years to try their hand at silkscreen printmaking by mixing, matching & layering patterns, symbols, text, & shapes to create one-of-a-kind hand-printed screen prints to take home - the more colourful and random the better!
Printmaking offers both a creative outlet and provides an opportunity to bring people together to share ideas, or simply create collectively.

10.30AM - 11.30AM LIMERICK PRINTMAKERS QUIET HOUR  - PRE BOOKING ESSENTIAL
LP' Quiet Hour is ideal for any children & young people, who may, for any reason benefit from a calmer, less crowded environment, offering limited numbers with pre-booking essential, seating, no/ low artificial lighting, & no music.

12PM - 2PM LIMERICK PRINTMAKERS DROP IN OPEN SESSION - NO BOOKING REQUIRED!
LP' drop in session is open to all children aged 6 - 16 years, just call in!

Please note that guardians/ parents must wait nearby/ in the foyer while the kids are printing as there will be a constant flow of children & young people moving through the space.

As this event may become very busy, we are letting everyone know they may need to wait a few minutes before entry - our team will communicate any wait time when you arrive & seating will be provided.

All children will be encouraged to try printing multiple times when making their print
- we envision that the activity will take approx. 15 - 25 minutes

Last entry will be 1.45pm with the event finishing at 2pm sharp.

There may be an official Cruinniú na nÓg photographer during the event. For this reason, we will need guardians/ parents to sign permission slips with the understanding that photos featuring their children may be taken & potentially used in the promotion of Creative Ireland &/or Cruinniú na nÓg going forward.

LP’s advanced silkscreen weekend course is the next step up from the studios incredibly popular step by step silkscreen weekend course. Course participants will learn in a practical way, completing each step of these advanced techniques themselves & also learning through observing others in the group, with full tutor support. LP’ advanced weekend course is aimed at those with a baseline level of experience in silkscreen printing who are looking to elevate their work by incorporating new techniques – in this case flocking and varnishing.

Please note that as this is an advanced course all participants must have a base level of silkscreen printmaking experience.
