New €600 SEAI battery grant now available ⚡🔋 Home battery storage has just become more accessible, with a new €600 SEAI grant available for eligible battery systems of 5 kWh or larger.
A home battery can store electricity for use later, helping you make better use of your solar generation and giving you more flexibility over when you use energy.
👉Who can apply?
The grant is available for eligible properties owned by:
☑ Homeowners, including private landlords
☑ Owner Management Companies
☑ Approved Housing Bodies
The property must have an MPRN, must have been built and occupied before 2025, and cannot previously have received grant funding for a battery at that MPRN.
👉What does the grant cover?
The grant is a flat €600 for a home battery system of 5 kWh or larger. Batteries below 5 kWh are not eligible.
If you are installing solar PV and battery storage together, you can apply for both grants in a single application.
One important point: you must receive your SEAI Grant Offer before installation begins, and the battery must be installed by an SEAI-registered Solar PV Contractor.

☀ New Solar PV and battery grants are coming — with some significant changes for Irish homes and businesses.
SEAI has announced increased support due to open from 6 October 2026, subject to final implementation arrangements.
Here are the main Solar PV changes:
🏢 Businesses
The Non-Domestic Microgeneration Grant is set for a temporary increase to 45% of eligible costs for nine months.
🏠 Homeowners
The existing Solar PV grant remains at up to €1,800, but eligibility will extend to homes built and occupied before 2025.
🔋 A new €600 home battery grant has also been announced.
💶 Certain qualifying households
Eligible homeowners receiving specified social protection payments may qualify for up to €9,000 towards Solar PV of up to 4kWp plus 5kWh of battery storage.
Additional fully funded Solar PV + battery support has also been announced through the Warmer Homes Scheme and Solar PV for the Medically Vulnerable Scheme.
⚠️ These new measures are not open yet. SEAI says they are expected from 6 October 2026, with final terms and eligibility details still to follow.

Three years running — and something we’re very proud of. ☀️
A big thank you to Elaine Carroll, Kapil Khanna and the All-Ireland Business Foundation for recognising Solgrid as Best in Class Commercial Solar PV Company 2026.
For us, this recognition is about more than an award. It reflects the consistency and care that goes into every project — from understanding how a customer uses energy, through system design and project planning, to safe installation, performance and ongoing support.
Commercial solar is a long-term investment, and we believe the quality of the design and delivery matters just as much as the technology itself.
Thank you to our entire Solgrid team, our customers and our project partners for helping us achieve this recognition for the third consecutive year. 👏
