Mental Health Drop-In Centre The Solas Drop-in Centre represents the social needs of mental health service users in the area.
The Solas Drop-in Centre, based in Monaghan, was established in 2001 as a direct response to the needs of people with mental health problems living the Monaghan area, who, on discharge from the mental health services, identified social exclusion as being one of the major barriers they have to face. Solas is a drop-in centre which is a user led, user run facility for those with mental health problems to provide them with a social outlet. On behalf of everyone at Team Solas we would like to thank local succesful boxers Aaron and Stevie McKenna for coming as our special guests your a credit to Monaghan in the world of Boxing.

Our speaker this week is local man Christopher Redhead.
Christopher lost his father at the age of 18, he turned to drink to deal with his emotions and it lead him down a dark path. A path of addiction, homelessness, drug use and attempted su***de.
Christopher gained sobriety at 25 years old, and proves that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. He talks about entering treatment in Cuan Mhuire to now helping others heal. Christopher has now a family of his own and works closely with LA519 teaching resilience to others.
