*In a huge victory for the Palestine solidarity movement and the mass civil, political and legal campaign against Israel Bonds, the Development Corporation for Israel (DCI) has been unable to get authorisation to sell its bonds in the EU. In an unprecedented disruption to its fundraising pipeline in the EU, Israel has been blocked from selling these genocide-funding bonds since 1 September.*

Today, after weeks of silence and stonewalling, refusing to answer questions from both journalists and the Oireachtas Finance Committee, Central Bank Governor Gabriel Makhlouf today confirmed, in an interview with David McCullough on RTE Radio 1, that the Central Bank has not received a prospectus from DCI, the issuer of Israel Bonds.

A campaign of pressure from the solidarity movement, from the streets, parliaments, civil society organisations, trade unions, artists and local authorities in Ireland and Luxembourg, expert legal opinion, local and international, and legal action has forced Israel to not seek approval from the CBI, or to request it to transfer the prospectus.

IPSC Chairperson Zoë Lawlor said: “Together we have kicked Israel Bonds out of the EU! This is an historic victory and we salute all involved, especially the IPSC activists who have dedicated so much to this huge win. The campaign to end the complicity of state institutions in enabling Israel to raise funds for genocide, apartheid and atrocity crimes against the Palestinian people is helping to finally end Israel’s impunity. There can be no business-as-usual for the genocidal apartheid state of Israel – and we in the IPSC will not rest until Palestinians enjoy freedom, justice, equality and return!”

Under the slogan of ‘Three Years of Genocide in Gaza - Sanctions Now!’, and to highlight more than three years of impunity for Apartheid Israel’s continuing genocide in Gaza in which it has slaughtered some 74,000 Palestinians, and to protest the Irish government’s continued refusal to hold the Apartheid state accountable, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, supported by over 160 Irish civil society organisations, has called another National Demonstration for Palestine Saturday 10th October.

The march will begin at the Garden of Remembrance at 1pm and finish outside the Dáil on Molesworth Street/Kildare Street to bring our demands to the Irish government’s doorstep.

On the 3rd Anniversary of the beginning of Israel's genocide in Gaza, we are again marching to highlight that the so-called 'Gaza ceasefire' remains an absolute fiction; the military occupation continues, and Israel has violated the 'ceasefire' more than 4,500 times over the past year, killing nearly 1,400 people and injuring 5,000 more. The entry of aid, fuel and food is still controlled and highly restricted by Israel, with only 35% of the promised supplies having been delivered, while 67% of Gaza's population now experiences acute food insecurity, and Gaza remains in ruins.

Ethnic cleansing continues apace in the West Bank, and soldiers and settlers continue to kill Palestinians there at a rate of about 1 person every three days.

All of this is just the latest phase in a process that has been continuing since 1948, what Palestinians refer to as 'the Ongoing Nakba', Nakba being the Arabic word for Catastrophe - conducted with absolute impunity as western powers try to gaslight us into thinking this relentless colonial violence constitutes a 'ceasefire' in any meaningful sense.

This is all now occurring against the backdrop of the continued US-Israeli war on Iran, and Israel's ongoing vicious assault on Lebanon. Indeed, Gaza was the graveyard of international law, and the failure of western powers to act to end the genocide means we are now in a world where 'might makes right' - the mask of 'liberal humanitarianism' has been discarded entirely, and hard power imperialism is running rampant: from the illegal war on Iran and it's resultant humanitarian, food, and fuel supply crises, to the 'Donroe' doctrine in Latin America, to ICE occupations of US cities.

Meanwhile the Irish government continues abdicating its responsibility to the Palestinian people, stalling and backtracking on promises to take action, allowing the US military to continue to US Shannon Airport and our airspace, jeopardising our neutrality, and shaming us all by association.

That's why it's imperative that we hit the streets in large numbers once again to pile the pressure on. We've seen victories thanks to our collective movement in Ireland - but we demand so, so, much more!

We need to bring people’s rage to the government’s doorstep – no more pathetic excuses, no more hiding behind legalese, no more empty words: we want sanctions on Israel now!

Armagh Clubs have once again voted overwhelmingly to drop genocide enabler, Allianz. This comes after the majority of Dublin clubs voted to end the partnership at the recent County Board meeting. Our GAA must not continue to promote the largest foreign financier of the rogue, Israeli regime that deliberately targets children and maintains an illegal occupation and an apartheid system. The only way to turn the tide is by all of us playing our part. The GAA can absorb the cost but not the complicity. We CAN and must drop Allianz.
