while there's no denying there is an issue with services like GP places, the answer to that is to campaign for more services, demand politicians do better for everyone not attempt to cap the population of the village

Those spreading hatred and division offer nothing to the people of Tipperary, their rethoric of fear won't build a single house or open a single new hospital bed.

People committing to Ireland for a better life aren't taking anything from the people already here, they're simply doing what humans have always done and always will do

Tipp FM allowing someone to claim asylum seekers are a threat to Irish culture, yet at the same time letting them claim to not be racist

Its fairly simple if you think a foreigner is a threat to you simply because they are foreign you are a racist.

At the Africa day events in Tipperary people from several countries in Africa, Ukrainians and Irish people all shared in each others culture.

Its this kind of integration that makes Ireland a great place. We are a welcoming people and we should be proud of that.

Roscrea's Africa Day at the Racket Hall: ‘Though you might be far from home, you are still home’ Events celebrating Africa Day were held in the Racket Hall Hotel in Roscrea

Unfortunately we've a number of far right candidates running in different parts of Tipperary.

These people are seeking to deflect blame away from the government and onto immigrants and other minority groups.

Hopefully the people of Tipperary reject their message of hate.

Welcome news from Roscrea that after more than two months a small group of protesters have realised that intimidating vulnerable women and children wasn't going to address any of the issues effecting the town, if anything it distracted people from the real causes of the lack of services and housing in Roscrea.

Instead it has made vulnerable people feel unwelcome, scapegoated immigrants as the cause of problems that are nothing to do with them, and dragged Roscrea's reputation into the mud.

It has been heart warming to see ordinary decent people from Roscrea and the surrounding areas stand up against those attempting to spread divisive racist rethoric aimed at asylum seekers and other immigrants. The people of Roscrea should be immensely proud of their neighbours who extended the traditional Irish cead míle fáilte to the asylum seekers in their community and have worked to integrate them into the community.

The problems facing the town in terms of services and housing haven't been caused by asylum seekers.

As people who live and work in tipperary those spreading this divisive fear mongering do not speak for us.

They're ordinary people going about their lives, trying to get work and accommodation, same as the rest of us.
