If you have ever lost a parent, you may understand this: time doesnāt always make the loss smaller. Sometimes we simply grow old enough to understand how great the loss really was.
People say time heals, but 37 years without my daddy has taught me something different. With every milestoneāmarriage, motherhood, watching my children growāI miss him in new ways. I understand him more, and I understand more deeply everything he is not here to see.
A week ago today, I marked the 37th yahrzeit of my father, Walter Kairy AāH. Even after all these years, the stories still find me. When someone asks who my father was and I say his name, I wait for their face to light up as they tell me about his chesed, his love for Torah, or something he quietly did for another person. For a moment, my daddy is back in the room.
My father taught me something I hope to pass on to my children: we spend so much of life watering the flowers because flowers are what people see. My father watered the roots. Torah, chesed, family, characterāwhat we do when nobody is watching. Flowers fade. Roots remain.
That is also why I share hereānot to impress or create comparison, but to inspire all of us, including myself, to improve and live with more purpose.
Daddy, what an honor it is to be your daughter.
At the end of our lives, it will matter far less what people saw than what we planted. Water your roots so deeply that generations after you are gone can still grow from them.

Not to rescue you from every challengeābecause life will teach you things I cannotābut to stand beside you when you need me. To listen. To support you. To show up when it matters most. And to love you in a way that never wavers, no matter where life takes you.
You donāt have to be perfect. You donāt have to have all the answers. You just have to be you.

Mommy, can the soldiers see my š®š± up in Shamayim?
āWalter they are smiling from up above watching you continue in their footsteps ā
As we honor our incredibly brave IDF heroes, I want to honor their parents and families too ā and acknowledge the unimaginable price they have paid. They sacrificed their lives so Israel can belong to us.
Our beautiful, brave fallen angels will never see so many of lifeās gifts. They wonāt walk down the aisle. They wonāt watch their children grow. They wonāt see another sunset or sunrise. They will never again tell their mother āthank youā or hug their father. They will never again experience this beautiful world.
What they have done ā what they have given ā is the greatest act of love for the State of Israel.
Tomorrow morning when you wake up and see the sunrise, hold one soldier in your mind. Life is a gift. Everything else is a bonus. Donāt take for granted what was taken from someone else.
Iām not sharing this to create sadness. Iām sharing this so we can be less divided and more whole. So we can spend more time loving and less time hating. So we can remember that life is short, and in an instant it can be gone.
These heroes knew that. And yet, they still walked into the line of fire.
We can learn so much from each one of these beautiful souls.
So Iāll ask you this: What will you do with the gift they died to protect? Donāt scroll past. Honor them today. āØ

Spending Passover with my family this year taught me something I needed to remember: our children and loved ones are the key to our growth.
Last year I had the honor of speaking in memory of Natasha, Diana, and Debrah Saidah. āAHā I shared with women in my community about _shlissel challah_ ā the special challah we bake the Shabbat after Pesach, which falls tomorrow this year.
And it left me with a question I keep asking myself:
*Are we bringing light into our home, or just into our house?*
A house is four walls. A home is sacred. Itās where we raise our children and where we grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Natasha embodied this. She was the light in her home 24/7. That was her legacy.
As we step into one of the most beautiful and powerful Shabbatot of the year, Iām asking myself again: Which key am I choosing to turn? Which door thatās stayed closed am I finally ready to open?
Lately, my morning mantra has been ābraiding with no boundaries.ā No limits on love. No limits on light. No limits on growth.
