Bawaka is a remote Indigenous community in Northeast Arnhem Land, Australia, home to Yolŋu Traditional Owners who have lived there for generations.

For over 40 years, the community has relied on a single, aging borehole for its water. Now, together with the Nova Peris Foundation, IsraAID is partnering with Bawaka's Traditional Owners on the Water Resilience Project — rehabilitating the community's water system and building long-term, community-owned water management. In July, former Prime Minister Tony Abbot joined us in Bawaka to start work on the new system, together with Nova Peris and the Bawaka community.

This project does more than fix a water system — it gives Bawaka the tools to manage its own water for the long term, supporting the ability of this community to live safely on Country for generations to come.

Without a private, safe place to manage menstrual hygiene, getting your period can mean missing school.
In Malawi, IsraAID is helping change that. A new girls’ sanitation facility in St Theresa Primary Schools means that now, over 900 girls can manage their periods with privacy and dignity — and keep learning, every day of the month.

To help us create safer spaces for girls to learn and thrive, donate now at israaid.org/donate/

When the devastating earthquakes hit Venezuela this June, for thousands of students across the country, school ended overnight.

Now, as classrooms prepare to reopen, IsraAID is training local teachers with the tools to help children process what they've been through, and to make the return to school feel safe again.

Help us rebuild a sense of normalcy in communities affected by crisis. Support IsraAID now.

Vast is 11 months old. Not long ago, a routine screening found she was malnourished. Her mother, Memory, joined a hands-on nutrition program to learn how to nourish her daughter using what was already growing around them.

In just a few days, everything changed.

Every day, families across Malawi face the quiet threat of childhood malnutrition — often without knowing it until it's almost too late. IsraAID Malawi is helping mothers like Memory give their children a healthy start. Support our work now at israaid.org/donate/

Rosh Hashanah gives us a moment to pause - to reflect on the year behind us and think about the year ahead. It is also a time to give. To give thanks, to give to others, and to make commitments for the year ahead.

This year, that commitment is more important than ever.

The world is facing crisis after crisis — earthquakes in Venezuela and Colombia, devastating floods in Nepal, conflict and displacement continuing around the world. The need is relentless. So are we.

As we enter 5787, the needs is more urgent than ever, and we can't do it alone. Give a gift this Rosh Hashanah and help us be ready for whatever comes next: israaid.org/donate/?utm_source=rhsm26

When education institutions become targets, it is the teachers and professionals at the heart of schools who hold education together. That’s why, today, on International Day to Protect Education from Attack, IsraAID is supporting education professionals as pillars of the community, bringing children a sense of safety amid crises.

In Ukraine and Israel, we are equiping education professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to act confidently in emergencies and strengthen the resilience of their communities in the long run.

Swipe to see the impact of our work in Israel and Ukraine, as well as the joint decisions that help children continue their studies and receive vital support, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Last week, we were honored to host TaiwanICDF財團法人國際合作發展基金會 at IsraAID HQ for two special days — culminating in the official signing of our MOU, formalizing an exciting partnership between our two organizations.

At a time when crises around the world are compounding — from natural disasters to displacement to safe water access and public health emergencies — the need for coordinated, effective humanitarian response has never been more urgent. No single organization can meet this moment alone. Partnerships like this one allow us to combine expertise, extend our reach, and respond faster and smarter to communities in need.

Following the formalization of this very special relationship, we are excited for everything TaiwanICDF and IsraAID will accomplish together, and we are sure it will mark the beginning of many more collaborations to come.

Here's to partnerships! 🤝

Over the weekend in Nepal, our emergency response team traveled to Rasuwa, one of the hardest-hit areas by the floods, where we worked with local partners to distribute over 230 hygiene kits, 50 resilience kits, and cooking gas containers to affected communities.

As needs evolve, we are working with local authorities and schools to support children and families, including planning psychosocial support in displacement centers and helping schools prepare to reopen.

More on our next steps coming soon 👀

One week since catastrophic flooding and landslides in Nepal, the scale of the destruction is still emerging.

Entire communities have been swept away, and thousands of families are now living in temporary evacuation shelters.

IsraAID’s Emergency Response Team arrived in Nepal within 48 hours of the disaster, and is working in affected communities across the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. In evacuation shelters, our team is distributing family hygiene kits including essential items like soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and menstrual hygiene products to families who fled their homes with nothing.

Your donation today helps us deliver essential aid to families in Nepal as they face continued uncertainty and distress. Donate now at: https://giving.israaid.org/page/USEMERGENCYFUND?utm_source=fbemergencyfundnepal
