National Health Center Week started in 1986 by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) to honor the lifesaving work of community health centers across the country and highlight the providers and patients that keep it alive and running.

As we kick-off this year, it's important to name that health centers now serve 1 in 8 of all New Yorkers' health needs. Building and serving our community is an essential part of our work and we are so thrilled to celebrate this week 40 years after its inception.

Today is , a day bring attention to getting tested, vaccinated and treated for viral hepatitis. Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver caused by viruses or by medications, alcohol abuse or issues with the immune system. The types of viral hepatitis include A, B, and C, which are the most common in the US.

We can prevent Hepatitis A and B with vaccines and can cure Hepatitis C with treatment. Hep B and C can often show no symptoms, so it's recommended that anyone over the age of 18 gets tested for both. If you aren't sure if you have been screened for viral hepatitis, you can make an appointment to get a test by following the link in our bio.
