The composition employs deep overhangs, perforated screens, and layered facades to mediate light, ventilation, and privacy. Spatial planning negotiates openness and enclosure, creating seamless indoor–outdoor transitions, while responding precisely to the client’s functional program and contextual climatic conditions.

VAIKHARI - The brick wall / Kannur / 2023


The 6-cent site is a linear field with contour and road access at the south of the site. The design was to attain an exhilarating space for the client even though the site is located in the city.
The spaces are designed to attain the needs put forward by the client and to get complete privacy from the city. So, the house is designed with an inward-looking plan. The house is an exploration of revealing the beauty of traditional use of exposed burnt brick. The design also is an attempt to bring the play of light into the house. The water body helps in creating a micro climate within the site.
