"I invest in LIC".
Yes. This is the reply I got from one of acquaintance I met yesterday.
I was unable to react to that immediately as the person was educated and earning handsomely.
Then I realized this is where the actual gap is. And I explained the difference between investment and insurance.
This is not only about that person but every second person believes the same - that investment is buying LIC or any other insurance.
LIC is neither an investment nor insurance.
If you want insurance, buy Life Insurance policy & Health Insurance.
If you want your money to grow, invest in mutual funds or any other proper investment products.
Remember, insurance is not for investment but for protection.

Do you know??!?
Well, India is a country where 3% population works for the rest of 97%.
And this 3% population is not very rich. They are just better than the rest of 97%.
And the harsh fact is, this 3% is just a medical bill or an emergency away from poverty.
Do you think this is going to work forever?
No, this is not at all sustainable in the long run.
Is there any motivation for these 3% to work for the benefit of others?
Government should definitely help 97% but not by burdening the 3%.
Instead they should increase the tax base of people who actually pay more tax.
Last week's budget has only made 3% people more frustrated and disappointed.
