How does God speak to His people?

Many Christians look for an audible voice, dreams, visions, or other supernatural experiences when they want to hear from God. While God can speak in different ways, the primary and objective way He has revealed His truth and will to us is through His written Word.

In this Foundation Series teaching, we explore how God speaks through the Bible. Scripture teaches us what is true, shows us where we are wrong, corrects us, and trains us to live according to God's ways.

We also discuss why experiences require interpretation and why Scripture must remain the objective standard by which we evaluate and understand our experiences.

If you want to hear from God regularly, make His Word a regular part of your life.

Big Idea: God speaks through His Word.

In this Foundation Teaching session, we explore what the Bible says about our new identity in Christ.

When we believe in Christ, God does not simply improve our old life. Something fundamental happens—we become a new creation.

The Bible says, “The old has gone; the new is here!” But what does it mean to live as a new creation?

The Christian life is not about improving our old identity. It is about learning to live according to who we now are in Christ.

In this teaching, we look at:

What happened to our old identity
What it means to be a new creation in Christ
Why our past does not define who we are now
How the new self is created to reflect God's character
Putting off the old self and living according to our new identity
How to stop thinking according to our old identity and learn to live as the person God has made us

You may not remember every description of your identity in Christ, but remember this:

I am no longer who I used to be. I am a new creation in Christ.

Have you ever felt that God was silent and not answering your prayers?

In Psalm 13, David does not pretend that everything is fine. He honestly expresses his feelings and confusion before God: “How long, O Lord?”

David's prayer shows us an important pattern. He brings his honest feelings to God, continues to seek Him in prayer, and ultimately reaffirms his trust in God's steadfast love.

Although Psalm 13 is an Old Testament passage, we see similar honesty in the New Testament—in Jesus' prayer in Gethsemane and in Paul's expressions of fear, weakness, and perplexity.

God does not require us to pretend. We can come to Him honestly with what is in our hearts. Honest lament is not the opposite of faith. We can bring our struggles to God and continue to trust Him even when we do not yet understand what He is doing.

This teaching explores Psalm 13:1–6 and the journey from complaint to prayer and from prayer to renewed trust in God.

In this teaching, we explore the grace of God and how it works in the life of a believer.

The Bible does not give us a simple definition of grace, but by looking at what grace does, we can understand it more clearly. Grace is God's undeserved favor, freely given to us.

We are saved by grace through faith. Through God's grace, we receive forgiveness, justification, reconciliation with God, and access to Him.

But grace is not merely a one-time experience at salvation. God's grace continues to work in the life of a believer. Grace teaches us to live godly lives, strengthens us in times of weakness, enables us to serve God, and helps us grow in humility.

In this session, we will learn why understanding God's grace changes the way we live—not trying to earn God's acceptance, but trusting Christ and depending on God's grace.

In Part 4 of the Blessed in Christ series, we continue our study of Ephesians 3 as Paul concludes his prayer for the believers.

Paul prays that Christ would dwell in our hearts through faith, that we would be rooted and grounded in love, and that we would know the vastness of Christ's love—a love that surpasses knowledge. He then prays that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.

In this message, we explore:

What it means for Christ to dwell in our hearts through faith.
The biblical meaning of the "heart" as the center of our inner person.
What it means for Christ to have authority over every area of our lives.
Being rooted and grounded in love.
The breadth, length, height, and depth of Christ's love.

Paul's prayer reminds us that the Christian life is not merely about knowing what God has given us in Christ. It is about allowing Christ to shape our inner life, experiencing His love, and living in the reality of His power and presence.

The Bible warns believers, "Do not give the devil an opportunity" (Ephesians 4:27). In this session, we continue our study by examining additional ways believers can unknowingly give Satan an opportunity to work against them.

The New Testament calls believers to exclusive devotion to Jesus Christ. We are not to participate in any form of worship or devotion directed toward another deity. Through the Scriptures, we will learn how the early church dealt with idolatry, pagan worship, and occult practices, and how these biblical principles apply to believers today.

In this lesson, we discuss:

What it means to flee from idolatry (1 Corinthians 10:14–22)
Why believers cannot maintain fellowship with Christ while participating in pagan worship
The difference between ordinary food and food associated with idol worship
The repentance of new believers who abandoned occult practices (Acts 19:18–20)

The Bible clearly teaches that Satan has no rightful authority over those who belong to Jesus Christ. Yet, believers are repeatedly warned, "Do not give the devil an opportunity" (Ephesians 4:27).

In this session, we examine what the New Testament says about giving the enemy a foothold in our lives. We will see that while Satan cannot separate believers from Christ, he can influence, deceive, tempt, hinder, and damage our walk with God when we give him opportunities through disobedience.
