Rising temperatures across South Asia are changing the conditions under which people work and live. Informal workers, who make up the majority of the labour force in the region’s cities, are among the most exposed and the least protected.

They work long hours in the heat with little shade, water or rest, and they return to homes that offer no relief. The economic and human costs of this exposure are large, yet they remain largely uncounted in policy and in climate finance ♨️

👥 Join us for the launch of new research exploring the impacts of heat stress on more than 700 informal workers across India and Bangladesh. The study examines both the economic and non-economic losses associated with extreme heat, revealing how inadequate housing, limited access to water and sanitation, and insecure work combine to create a hidden cycle of vulnerability.

As ILO convention turns 30, India’s home-based workers demand equal rights The Convention 177 was adopted on June 20, 1996, recognising home-based workers on a par with traditional wage earners.

National Platform for Domestic Workers , Delhi organised a Consultation on Domestic Workers issues, it's demands and it's more than 10 years struggle for rights and benefits of Domestic Workers as Workers which yet to achieve , at Vishwa Yuva Kendra , Delhi marking the 16 th June International Domestic Workers Day .
