On September 14, 2026, look up for one of Septemberโs most fascinating celestial events โ a Lunar Occultation of Venus! ๐ญ
For a brief time, the Moon will pass directly in front of brilliant Venus, making the planet appear to disappear behind the Moon before reappearing again. ๐คฏ๐
๐
Date: September 14, 2026
๐ Event: Moon Occults Venus
๐ญ Best viewed with: Telescope or binoculars
๐ฎ๐ณ India: The event occurs during the daytime/late afternoon, so visibility depends heavily on your location and sky conditions.
Itโs a beautiful reminder that even objects millions of kilometres away can appear to dance together from our viewpoint on Earth. ๐
How fast is the universe expanding?
Wellโฆ it depends on how you measure it. ๐
๐ญ Look at the universe today:
Using Cepheid stars & supernovae โ ~73 km/s/Mpc
๐ Look at the early universe:
Using the Cosmic Microwave Background โ ~67โ68 km/s/Mpc
Both methods are incredibly precise.
But they donโt agree. ๐ณ
This cosmic disagreement is called the Hubble Tension.
Think of it like watching the same movie at two different speeds. ๐ฌ
If both measurements are correct, it could mean something fascinating:
๐ Our current understanding of the universe may be missing a piece of the puzzle.
Maybe itโs measurement error.
Maybe itโs new physics.
Or maybeโฆ
