DAY 4 - MONSOON BODY RESET 🌧️

For generations, onion and honey have been used as a traditional home remedy during coughs and sore throats.

🌿 Why people used it:

🧅 Onion
Rich in quercetin, a natural antioxidant
Traditionally used to soothe the throat
Contains sulfur compounds

🍯 Honey
Helps coat and soothe an irritated throat
May reduce coughing, especially nighttime cough in adults and children over 1 year
Naturally sweet and comforting

✨ Together, they create a soothing syrup that many families have relied on during the rainy season.

⚠️ Honey should never be given to babies under 1 year of age. If symptoms are severe, persistent, or accompanied by high fever or breathing difficulty, seek medical care.

Comment “MONSOON” and I’ll send you my complete Monsoon Health Guide 🌧️

Monsoon nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all. Changes in humidity, appetite, activity levels, food hygiene and digestion can alter nutritional needs across age groups.

👶 Kids: Focus on nutrient density, protein, micronutrients and gut-friendly foods to support growth and immune function.

👧 Teens: Prioritise protein-rich breakfasts, iron, zinc and B-vitamins instead of ultra-processed snacks to support energy, skin and hair health.

💻 Adults: Meal prep helps control excess sodium, refined carbs and saturated fat while maintaining protein and fibre intake.

🤱 Postpartum: Adequate protein, fluids, iron, calcium and energy are essential for tissue repair, recovery and lactation demands.

🌸 Menopause: Prioritise protein, calcium, vitamin D, fibre and resistance-based movement for muscle and bone health.

👵 Parents: Choose warm, soft, easily digestible meals with adequate protein, fibre and micronutrient density.

🌧️ The monsoon rule: make nutrient-dense food the easiest food to reach for.

Does someone in your family start coughing or catching a cold every time the weather changes? 🌧️

And what’s your go-to home remedy when you notice the first signs?

DAY 2 of my MONSOON BODY RESET 🌧️

Today’s focus: traditional drinks that can support you through the cold, damp monsoon weather.

🍵 Pippali Drink
Best when: your throat feels irritated, you have an occasional cough or feel heavy after meals.

👉 Have it warm, preferably after food rather than on an empty stomach.

🍵 Sonth Kadha
Best when: the weather feels cold and damp, digestion feels sluggish or you feel heavy.

👉 Keep it simple and have it warm. You don't need a very concentrated kadha.

🍵 Giloy Herbal Drink
Best used: as an occasional traditional wellness drink.

👉 You don't need to drink all 3. Pick what suits you rather than stacking multiple herbal remedies in one day.

💡 If you want to rotate them:
✔️ Pippali → when your throat feels irritated
✔️ Sonth → when digestion feels sluggish
✔️ Giloy → occasionally as part of your wellness routine

These are traditional supportive drinks, not a replacement for medical treatment if you're actually unwell.

SAVE this for the next weather change 🌧️

And tell me: what was YOUR family’s go-to remedy for cough & cold? 👇

Day 1 of my Monsoon Body Reset 🌧️

Monsoon doesn’t just change the weather. It can change your digestion, hydration, movement, scalp environment, gut and even the way you eat.

That’s why I don’t follow the exact same routine year-round.

✔ Support digestion
✔ Stay intentional with hydration
✔ Prioritise freshly cooked food
✔ Keep the scalp dry
✔ Build movement into your day
✔ Rotate seasonal produce
✔ Focus on gut health

The goal isn’t to “detox” your body.

It’s to make simple seasonal changes that help you feel lighter, better and more energised through the rains.

And this is just Day 1. 🌿

Comment "GLP-1" and I'll send you my complete GLP-1 meal plan. 💚

Starting Ozempic or Mounjaro? Your diet needs to change too.

These medications reduce your appetite, but eating less doesn't automatically mean eating better.

Without the right nutrition, you may experience:
✔ Muscle loss
✔ Low energy and fatigue
✔ Nausea
✔ Constipation
✔ Poor recovery
✔ Slower metabolism over time

The goal isn't just to eat less.
It's to make every bite count.

A balanced GLP-1 meal plan focuses on:
🥩 High quality protein
🥗 Fibre rich foods
🥜 Healthy fats
💧 Hydration
🧂 Electrolytes when needed
🍓 Nutrient dense meals in smaller portions

The right food choices can help you lose fat while protecting your muscle, energy, and overall health.

👉Sometimes it's your postpartum journey.

The solution changes when the reason changes. ❤️

📊 Blood Sugar Guide (2 Hours After Breakfast)

✔️ Below 140 mg/dL: A normal blood sugar response for most people without diabetes. A small rise after eating is expected.

⚠️ Above 140 mg/dL regularly: Your breakfast may be causing a bigger spike than ideal, especially if it's high in refined carbs and low in protein or fiber. If this happens consistently, speak with your healthcare provider.

🥇 #1 Cornflakes with milk + sugar
(Very high GI, low fiber)

🥈 #2 White bread with jam / butter
(Refined flour + sugar)

🥉 #3 Poha
(Moderate to high impact, especially if made without peanuts or protein)

✨ #4 Idli with chutney
(Fermented, but still rice-based and relatively high in available carbohydrates)

🏆 #5 Moong Dal Chilla / Paneer Bhurji
(Lowest impact due to high protein and fiber)

This ranking is for these breakfasts eaten on their own. Pairing them with protein, healthy fats, and fiber can help reduce the blood sugar rise and keep you full for longer.

📌 Save this for your next breakfast.
💬 Which should I rank next: Rotis, fruits or Indian snacks?

Here are 4 healthy foods I'd be extra careful with during monsoon:

❌ Cabbage
Its tightly packed leaves can hide insects, dirt, and microbes. Wash thoroughly and cook before eating.

❌ Cauliflower (Gobhi)
The florets easily trap tiny insects and moisture. Soak in salted water for 15 to 20 minutes and cook well.

❌ Broccoli
Like cauliflower, its dense florets can hold dirt and insects. It's best to avoid eating it raw during monsoon.

❌ Microgreens
They're highly nutritious, but because they're often eaten raw and grown in moist conditions, they may carry a higher contamination risk if not sourced hygienically.

Monsoon isn't about avoiding healthy foods. It's about eating them safely.
✔️ Wash produce thoroughly
✔️ Cook vegetables whenever possible
✔️ Buy only from trusted, hygienic sources
Save this post before your next grocery trip. 🌧️💚

Comment "FASTING" and I'll send you my low calorie Sawan fasting recipes that keep you full, healthy, and support your weight loss goals.

Many people end up gaining weight during Sawan fasting, not because they're fasting, but because of a few common mistakes.

❌ Eating only potatoes and sabudana
❌ Surviving on tea and biscuits all day
❌ Not including enough protein, leading to constant hunger
❌ Choosing deep fried fasting snacks
❌ Breaking the fast with sweets and overeating

A well-planned vrat can help you feel energetic, manage hunger, and stay consistent with your health goals.
