MorTH is working on new rules for headlight functionality & intensity:
* AHO (Automatic Headlamp On): Headlights will automatically switch on at night in low beam instead of high.
* Headlight intensity limits: Proposed reduction from 2.25 lakh to 1.5 lakh candela for cars and 1.5 lakh to 1 lakh candela for two-wheelers.
* High-beam warning in cars: At speeds below 60 km/h, continuous beeping may alert the driver if high beam is being used - similar to a seat-belt warning.
The aim: reduce headlight glare and improve road safety.

A video from NIT Durgapur has sparked a debate on social media after a professor objected to a student dance performance during the instituteโs induction programme. The incident took place during a welcome event for new students, where two female students, dressed in jeans and T-shirts, performed to Chikni Chameli from the 2012 Bollywood film Agneepath, starring Katrina Kaif.
The performance took an unexpected turn when the professor intervened and questioned whether the students had received prior approval for their act. She also objected to what she described as โvulgarโ dance moves, prompting a debate online. Addressing the students, she said, โHave you taken approval before showing this kind of dances here? Is it a joke? Is it introduction? Entertainment? So you people better know the class.โ
