25-year-old woman dies in overnight accident in Srinagar’s Nishat
Srinagar, Aug 11 : A 25-year-old woman was killed in an overnight road accident in the Kral Sangari area of Nishat in Srinagar, officials said.
An official told that the accident occurred around 1:30 am, when a speeding vehicle bearing registration number JK01AR-0071 hit a road divider and overturned.
He said a woman travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead upon arrival. The deceased was identified as Toboya Auyob (25), daughter of Mohd Auyob, a resident of Barbar Shah, Srinagar.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and further proceedings are underway.

Old Wayil Bridge to make way for new four-lane structure
Ganderbal, Aug 09: The old Wayil Bridge in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district is being dismantled to pave the way for construction of a new four-lane bridge under the Manigam–Wayil–Pandach Semi Ring Road project, officials said.
An official said the dismantling work commenced today with heavy machinery deployed at the site to remove the existing bridge in phases.
He said the new four-lane bridge is aimed at improving connectivity between Manigam, Wayil and Pandach and easing traffic movement along the important stretch.
Once completed, the new bridge is expected to provide smoother and more efficient movement of vehicles in the area, he said.—
