Music Is What Saves Us

There are days when words fail.
Music doesn't.

Rabin Bar's sculpture of intertwined instruments is not just a celebration of sound — it is a reminder that music holds us together when everything else falls apart.

It is the prayer we hum when we cannot pray.
The company we keep when we are alone.
The memory that returns even when we forget everything else.

This sculpture is for everyone who was once saved by a song.

We are Assam

We are the misty mornings of Kaziranga, where the one-horned rhino still walks free.

We are the power of Kamakhya, where Shakti herself rests on Nilachal hill.

We are the beat of the Bihu dhol — when the pepa plays, every heart dances. Our pride is in a red-bordered gamosa.

We are the history of Rang Ghar — built by the Ahoms 600 years ago, Asia's oldest amphitheatre, where culture was always celebrated.

Tea gardens, Muga silk, Majuli island and the Brahmaputra — this is our home.

This sculpture by Rabin Bar is titled - "Rhythm of Togetherness"

About the Sculpture:
This bronze-finished work captures a moment of pure harmony between two dancers. Two figures - a man and a woman - are locked in an intimate dance pose, eyes closed, lost in the music and in each other.

What it Portrays:
At its heart, this sculpture is not just about two people dancing. It portrays Unity in Duality. It tells us that love is the most beautiful dance, where you move with, not just beside, your partner. It is a symbol of celebration, of folk tradition, of togetherness and of art as a language of love.

They have learned the oldest trick in the book: divide and rule.

When you can't answer questions about jobs, about prices, about real development, you give the people a new enemy. You tell them to look at their neighbour, not question their lack of accountability.

So every day we are fed a new story — this religion against that religion, this festival against that festival, what to eat, what to wear, what to say.

This division is not an accident. It is a design. Because a brainwashed people will never unite to ask real questions.

And yes, it has worked on some. Some of our own brothers and sisters have been completely brainwashed. They now see an enemy in the person they used to share tea with, play cricket with, celebrate with. They fight on the streets and on social media, thinking they are protecting their religion, when in reality they are only protecting the profit and power of the powerful.

That is exactly what the powerful want. A crowd that is busy fighting each other is too busy to fight the system.

But here is what they will never understand, and what they can never break —

No matter how much poison they spread, there will always be love and respect among us.

In our lanes, in our homes, in our real lives, we still stand by each other. We still attend each other's weddings and funerals. We still help each other when someone is sick. The common Hindu still loves his Muslim friend, and the common Muslim still respects his Hindu brother. That bond is older and stronger than any WhatsApp forward or any hate speech.

They can try to divide us, but they can never win. Because India was, is, and will always be about unity.

We see through the game.

One man sits at the top, claiming innocence, claiming development, claiming he has done a lifetime of work for the nation. He smiles for the cameras, gives the speeches, takes the credit. But the real work — the dirty work — is done in the shadows by his loyal minions.

They are the ones who threaten, who silence, who manipulate the system. They ensure that contracts go to friends, voices of genuine people are crushed, and institutions bow down. And he? He keeps his hands clean and says, "I did nothing."

And who pays the price for this? The common people.

The farmer, the daily wage worker, the small shopkeeper, the students — they are the ones suffering the most. Inflation eats their savings, unemployment kills their dreams, and exams being cancelled because of paper leaks crushing their hardwork and dreams.

The saddest part is not just the oppression, it is the blindness. Many don't understand what's happening. Others see it but choose to look away, because it's comfortable, because it's convenient, because speaking up is dangerous.

And so the chain of humanity is breaking. People are no longer fighting the powerful — they are fighting each other just to survive. Hindu against Muslim, caste against caste, poor against poorer. Divide and rule has returned in a new suit.

This is the ultimate truth of this regime: The poor are getting poorer, and the rich are getting richer.

This is not democracy. This is capitalism disguised as nationalism.

The question is not where the country is headed. We already know. The question is — when will the people open their eyes?

P.S- The irony is that this artwork was made in 2012 and it still predicted everything that's happening currently.
