Tropical Laboratory, 1, Howrah – Amta Road, P.O. – Balitikuri, Howrah – 711 113, in West Bengal, a Drug Manufacturing Co. was established on the day of Shuvo Aukshaya Trithiya in the year 1963, at 63A Middle Road, Kolkata – 14. The Company started production of manufacturing “Water for Injection I.P.” only in the First Stage. In 1974, the Company was shifted at 41/1/1, Brojo Nath Lahiri Lane, Howrah – 711104 as per advice of Directorate of Drug Control, West Bengal. Then they started production of all kinds of common injectable items, Viz. Dexamethasone Injection, Gentamycin Injection, Diazepam Injection etc. During this time, they used to sell their products, all over India. In the year, 1976, they made a New Department i.e. Such as Dextrose 5% and “Ringer Lactate Injection” in Glass Bottles. They started their production from 1977 and continued upto 1999, they sold these productions to the Govt. of West Bengal during 22 years, continuously without any break and with reputation. After the invention of “I. Fluid” in Polypack, and investment of huge amount, the said firm has switched off their products of “Tablets & Oral Liquids” category. In the year 1985, the company constructed their own existing building at 1, Howrah – Amta Road, P. O. – Balitikuri, Howrah – 711113. It is situated on 12 Khatas of land containing 8,000SFT. of covered area in two – storied building. It is situated on the Main Road side in Metropoliton Areas. It is only 9K.M. distance from Howrah Main Station. The firm achieved G. P. Certificate in the year, 2005. All machineries are imported and G. quality conforming. All the machineries are brought from renowned companies like M/s. CADMACH Machineries and M/s. PRECESION GEARS LTD., like this. The total cost of Plants & Machineries is Rs. 1 crore as on 31.03.2012. The Quality Control Department is also well - equipped and they have planned to achieve G. L. Certificate, very soon. The work is in progress. Now, the company is manufacturing various Tablets and Oral Liquids Category and supplying to Govt. of West Bengal. The coming 2013, is going to complete (Golden Jubilee) years. The proprietor of the company is Sri Murari Mohon Mondal whose age is near about 88 years and his two sons, Sri Prosanta Kumar Mondal & Sri Susanta Kumar Mondal are carrying out this business successfully.
