We ended 2025 with an exciting milestone.
Our first project in Mumbai made Maharashtra the 11๐ญ๐ก ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ where Clean-Water is helping rejuvenate waterbodies across India.
In partnership with a reputed NGO, we deployed ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐จ๐๐ง๐ ๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐๐ญ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ across two lakes in the Mira Bhayander region.
Just a few months into the project, the ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ข๐ง ๐ฐ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ก๐๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ง ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ค๐๐๐ฅ๐.
Parameters such as BOD, COD, and key nutrients are already within limits, demonstrating the impact of combining science-backed restoration with nature-based solutions.
Our floating wetlands are actively absorbing excess nutrients and supporting beneficial microbial activity, while the aerators are increasing dissolved oxygen levels and improving overall ecosystem health.
With continued operation, we expect the water quality to improve even further in the coming months.

Lakes, ponds, rivers and wetlands do much more than store water.
They recharge groundwater, support biodiversity, improve climate resilience, and sustain communities.
Yet many of our waterbodies are struggling with pollution, sewage inflows, and poor water quality.

Hundreds of dead fish floating on a lake are not just an environmental incident. It is a warning sign.
Recently, ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ค๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐ฅ๐ก๐ข ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฆ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ก ๐ค๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ as extreme heat, low water levels, pollution, and reduced dissolved oxygen created conditions that aquatic life could not survive.
Experts point out that falling water levels concentrate pollutants, while rising temperatures reduce oxygen in the water.
The result is often visible in the form of dead fish, foul odours, and a collapsing aquatic ecosystem.
What is happening at Sanjay Lake is unfortunately not unique.
A few years ago, ๐๐ง๐ง๐๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ซ ๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฌ. Poor water quality, organic pollution, and deteriorating ecological conditions had impacted the health of the lake ecosystem.

This is the reality for women in Berasta Faliya village in Gujaratโs Valsad district.
Using ropes and iron ladders, women are risking their lives to reach small amounts of water trapped between rocks inside dried wells.
Some have reportedly slipped and fallen while trying to fetch water.
What makes this situation more shocking is that Valsad is known as the โCherrapunji of Gujaratโ because of its high rainfall.
Yet today, families are waiting for hours to collect just one or two pots of water.
Around 1,200 people in the village depend on eight wells, all of which dry up during summer.
Residents also say that a major water supply project worth crores failed to deliver water even after pipelines and taps were installed years ago.
Many of these taps are now rusting without ever supplying water.

This is exactly what is happening in Guernsey.
Drone footage recently revealed that raw sewage from around 75 homes at Fort George was being released close to Soldierโs Bay shoreline.
For many swimmers and visitors, the news came as a shock.
One swimmer shared that he passed through visible sewage in the water and later suffered stomach illness for days.
Health experts have warned that sewage released so close to shore can spread harmful bacteria, make people sick, and damage marine life.
Authorities are now testing water quality to understand the level of risk.
What makes this more concerning is that Guernsey pumps nearly 15 million litres of sewage into the sea every day through offshore outfall systems.
While officials say ocean currents help dilute the waste, many people are now questioning how safe these waters really are.
This is a reminder that water pollution is not a distant problem. It can exist even in places known for clean coastlines and high living standards.
When sewage enters our waterbodies, the risk is not just environmental. It becomes a public health issue.

By April 30, 2026, water storage in 166 major reservoirs dropped to just 38.72% of total capacity.
Several states are experiencing faster depletion than last year.
States such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, Tripura, and West Bengal are experiencing severe water stress.
Some reservoirs have reached critically low levels. Chandan Dam in Jharkhand is already at 0%. Vaigai in Tamil Nadu is close to 15%.
This is not just about numbers.
Low reservoir levels affect drinking water, farming, industries, groundwater and ecosystems.
Millions of people depend on these water sources every day.
Major river basins like Krishna, Ganga, Godavari, Narmada and Kaveri are also showing declining storage.
The warning signs are clear. India needs stronger water management, better groundwater recharge,
protection of lakes and rivers and long-term planning for climate resilience.
Water security cannot wait until reservoirs run empty.

Monsoon preparation is not just about managing rainwater.

At Annapurna Lake, preparations for the monsoon are already underway.
