Nayla Fort (also spelled Naila Fort) is a 19th-century hilltop stronghold located approximately 25-30 km from Jaipur. While it is less crowded than the famous Amber or Nahargarh forts, it is highly regarded for its heritage architecture and its recent transformation into an ultra-luxury residence.

Origin: The fort was built in 1849 by the Champawat clan, a prominent Rajput lineage.

Purpose: It was originally established as a military defense post and a private retreat for the Thakur of Naila.

Modern Era: In 1982, the Oberoi family purchased the fort in a ruined state. They meticulously restored it over decades, maintaining its historical integrity while adding modern luxuries

Visiting Information

Because the fort is now operated as Naila Fort – An Oberoi Luxury Residence, access is more restricted than at public monuments.

Timings: Generally open from 4:00 PM onwards for specific experiences (like high tea or sunset viewing).

Entry Policy: It is not a “walk-in” tourist site. You typically need a prior reservation for a stay or a private dining experience.

Experience: It is marketed as a private heritage home rather than a standard hotel, offering extreme privacy and personalized service.
