Effective from April 1, 2026, Rule 46(8) of the Income-tax Rules mandates that any business or professional maintaining electronic books of account must perform a daily backup.

These backups must be stored on servers physically located in India and the records must remain accessible at all times.

ICAI ASB Announcement (31.03.2026) : The Guidance Note on Financial Statements of Non-Corporate Entities & LLPs is now moving to phased applicability.

✅ From FY 2025–26, it applies to entities with turnover > ₹5 crore, and from FY 2026–27, it extends to all entities.
