🌱 Carbon Farming for a Greener Tomorrow 🌍

Under the banner of Akshay Foundation, we are proud to share the successful implementation of our Carbon Farming & Climate-Resilient Land Use Initiative on our ancestral land in Unnao , India.

With the support of Akshay ‘s Founder member Mr.Prem Shanker Choudhery (President)

we transformed unused land into a living model of climate action. The land now hosts a diverse range of native trees, herbal plants, fruit saplings, and climate-friendly crops, helping us:

Activities:
• Agroforestry: Plant fast-growing native trees and intercropped fruit or nut trees.

🌳 Sequester carbon naturally
💧 Improve soil fertility and water retention
👩‍🌾 Provide green skills to local women and farmers
🌾 Promote eco-farming and rural self-reliance

This is not just a plantation project—it’s a community-led movement for sustainability, resilience, and a healthier planet. 🌍✨

We thank every village member, eco-volunteer, and Akshay Foundation team member who made this possible. Your dedication is turning climate hope into local action. 🙏💚

Let’s inspire more such models of climate justice from the ground up.

Carbon Farming in LKO, India: Growing Hope for a Greener Tomorrow! 🇮🇳🌍

We recently hosted an insightful program on Carbon Farming, exploring how Indian farmers are becoming climate warriors — not just food growers! 🌾✨

Carbon farming is an innovative agricultural method that helps capture and store carbon dioxide (CO₂) in soil and plants, fighting climate change from the ground up.

🇮🇳 Popular Carbon Farming Methods Used in India:

✅ Agroforestry – Integrating trees with crops to absorb more carbon
✅ Crop Rotation & Cover Crops – Enriching the soil and locking in carbon
✅ Biochar Application – Using charcoal to improve soil health and carbon storage
✅ Organic Farming – Reducing chemical input and promoting natural carbon sinks
✅ Conservation Tillage – Minimal soil disturbance to retain carbon
✅ Vermicomposting & Green Manure – Boosting soil carbon naturally 🌿

🌾 From Punjab to Tamil Nadu, Indian farmers are blending traditional wisdom with modern techniques to reduce emissions and build climate-resilient agriculture.

🙌 This initiative brought together farmers, youth, and changemakers to promote sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, and rural empowerment.

Let’s farm not just for food — but for the future of our planet! 🌍💚
