I got bored of seeing the same Ajrakh. So I made my own.
Same blocks. Same colours. Same designs — everywhere I looked.
So I sat at my desk and drew something that didn’t exist yet.
My sketch travelled from my 1 metre desk to a 7 metre printing table in Ajrakhpur, Kutch — where a master craftsman carved my block by hand and brought it to life through a 4000 # year old tradition.
Natural dyes. Hand printing. No machines.

🟤This blouse fabric is crafted with traditional “Ajrakh” hand block printing technique which uses Pichwai theme in the design. The cow motif was carved on wooden block and then dipped in natural dyes and block printed on fabric.. we have embellished the cows with golden zardosi “dabka” embroidery and then it was stitched by our karigar. 🪵
