Medical Coding is the science and art of conversion of patients' medical records into alpha-numeric codes that are converted into bills and sent to the patients' insurance company for the purpose of reimbursement. Job security for Medical Coders is very high due to the subjective nature of the business and irreplacability with any automation solution. Students will be trained on medical vocabulary, surgical procedures, building up temprament reading the lengthy medical records of the patients, identifying the diseases, the services rendered, supplies and implants that went along with the service, and eventually be able to issue alpha-numeric codes for the physicians' services.
