Goa University's Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature, in collaboration with Vriksh Foundation, invites students, faculty and nature enthusiasts to participate in Poetree Walk as part of Climate Week India 2026, discovering the trees of the Goa University campus on 29 September 2026 and 01 October 2026.

Participants are invited to explore the campus flora and write creative reflections or poems in English, Konkani, Hindi, Marathi, French or Portuguese inspired by campus trees like the Banyan, Gulmohar, Amaltas and Raintree.

Selected poems will be shared during the walking trails.

Goa University invites students to showcase their creativity in the Reel Making Competition 2026, organised by the Examination Division in association with the Directorates Division and the Directorate of Digital Learning Initiatives (DDLI).

The competition encourages teams to produce short videos promoting academic integrity on the theme "Say No to Unfair Means Practices in Examination".

Competition Guidelines
Theme: Say No to Unfair Means Practices in Examination
Eligibility: Teams of 3 to 5 regular bonafide students (excluding Research Scholars)
Format: Vertical video (9:16 aspect ratio), 30 to 90 seconds duration
Languages: English, Konkani, Marathi or Hindi (with English subtitles)
Deadline: 15th October 2026 (till 5:00 PM)

Submit your entries through the official Google Form link circulated to your respective Schools and affiliated colleges.

Goa University, in collaboration with My Bharat, Goa State, organised “Goa Youth for Viksit Bharat@2047”, a youth engagement programme under the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, on 11 September 2026 at the Conference Hall, Administrative Building, Goa University.

The programme featured an inspiring address by Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Hon’ble Governor of Goa and Chancellor of Goa University, who highlighted the pivotal role of youth in shaping the vision of a developed India by 2047 while addressing the principals and NSS programme officers of affiliated colleges.

Sr. Prof. Rajendra S. Gad, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Goa University, and Shri G. S. Raghav, Director, My Bharat Goa State, also addressed the gathering.
Prof. Sunder N. Dhuri, Registrar of Goa University, proposed the vote of thanks.

Ganeshotsav 2026 | Goa University

Celebrating tradition, creativity and the spirit of togetherness, students of the School of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology (Botany Discipline) and the Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature, under the aegis of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), jointly organised Ganeshotsav 2026 on 11 September 2026 at Goa University.

The celebration featured eco-friendly Ganesh idol making, floral fati and rangoli, sweet dish making, Fugdi and an on-the-spot reel-making competition, bringing together culture, creativity and sustainability.

Goa University organised an awareness session on preventive behaviour around animals, first aid for animal bites and immediate reporting protocols for students, teaching and non-teaching staff at the Chemistry Auditorium, School of Chemical Sciences.

The session was led by Dr. Priya Dalal, Assistant Director, Government Veterinary Hospital, Tonca and Dr. Niceta Maria Cunha Costa, Veterinary Officer, Disease Investigation Unit, Tonca, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Government of Goa.

The session provided practical guidance on animal safety, preventive measures and appropriate emergency response, promoting a safer and more informed campus community.

“The Culinary Challenge – The Sacred Flavors of the Monsoon” brought together the students of the Master of Business Administration (Integrated) – Hospitality and Tourism, Goa Business School, Goa University, for a festive cooking competition celebrating the wholesome and authentic flavours of Goan Sattvic cuisine.

The Discipline of Hindi, Shenoi Goembab School of Languages and Literature (SGSLL), Goa University, has organised a workshop on “The Art of Public Speaking” on 9 September 2026.

Led by Mr Abhigyan Roy, Public Speaker, Youth Leader and Trainer, the interactive session focused on building confidence, effective communication, thought organisation and public speaking skills, helping students overcome stage fear and express their ideas with clarity and confidence.
