Two Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Class 7 Student in Poonch
Jammu, Sept 9th Police have arrested two persons in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a Class 7 student in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.
According to officials, the minor allegedly boarded a cab while returning home on September 6. The cab driver is accused of taking her to his residence, where his associate was also present. Police said the girl was allegedly confined for several days.
Following a complaint lodged at Gursai Police Station, police initiated prompt action and apprehended both accused persons.
The accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions pertaining to serious offences, along with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.

An FIR has been registered against Samajwadi Party district vice president Haji Mohammad Usman, uncle of Bilari MLA Mohammad Faheem Irfan, for allegedly offering namaz on a road near the Circuit House in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Police registered the case under Sections 285 and 292 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, relating to obstruction of a public way and public nuisance.
