The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Vishwakarma University, organised a Photography Workshop in association with Nikon India. The workshop introduced students to Nikon’s latest photography gear and offered valuable insights into professional photography equipment, techniques, and industry practices. The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Vishwakarma University, organised a photography workshop in association with Nikon India Pvt Ltd. providing students with an opportunity to explore the latest developments in photography technology and equipment.

The session featured an introduction to Nikon’s latest camera gears and equipment, along with practical insights into their features and applications.

The Nikon team included:

* Mr. Amit Kumar – Area Sales Manager
* Mr. Mazhar Pathan – Route Trainer, Rest of Maharashtra & Goa
* Mr. Rahul Pillay – Route Trainer, Rest of Maharashtra & Goa

The session was coordinated by Dr. Abatis Thokalath Sunny, Faculty Coordinator. Prof. Angad Taur and Dr. Ujjaini Chakraborty also joined the session and interacted with the participants and Nikon India members.

The workshop offered students valuable exposure to professional photography equipment and industry practices, bridging classroom learning with hands-on industry experience.

Heartiest congratulations to the Hindi Debate Team of Vishwakarma University -Ms. Riddhi Gidwani (BAJMC, Sem V) and Ms. Asmi Ostwal (BBALLB, Sem VII) for winning the All India CII “The India We Want” Debate Competition, organised by the *Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and hosted at Bhujbal Knowledge City, Nashik.*

The English Debate Team -Ms. Hopewell Mdlongwa (BBALLB, Sem III) and Ms. Kudzaishe Makoni (BSc. Computer Science, Sem V) secured an impressive *Second Position.*

Adding to this achievement, the English Debate Team were the winners of the CII “The India We Want” Debate Competition in 2025, making their continued success at the national level a remarkable accomplishment for the University.

The outstanding performance of both teams at the Zonal and National levels is a proud moment for Vishwakarma University and reflects the University’s commitment to holistic development, excellence, and providing students with platforms to excel beyond the classroom.

The teams were mentored by Dr. Ujjaini Chakraborty, Prof. Akshay Upadhyay, and Prof. Manu Joseph, whose guidance and support played an important role in preparing the students for the competition.

Prof. Divya Munot (Deputy Director, SW) and Amrita Thakur (Coordinator-Cultural activities, SW) from the Office of Student Welfare, coordinated the teams throughout the journey- from the screening round to the final round, ensuring seamless participation and support at every stage.
