They say taste has a unique way of taking you straight back in time, and I truly felt that today. I stopped by the exact same street spot where my friends and I used to regular during our school days back in 2007, 2008, and 2009 to have their classic aalu ki bhajiya. Back then, we only had about 20 rupees of pocket money, so we would pool our cash together just to feast on a bunch of different street foods, and this specific plate was always on the menu.

There is a huge lesson in this about how inflation works and how the value of a rupee shifts dramatically over a couple of decades. But even though the prices have scaled up with the times, the incredible taste has remained exactly the same. I know for a fact that when my old school friends see this plate, it is going to unlock those exact same memories for them too.
