Val Resh aka Reshma Valliappan is widely known in the field of mental health and cross disability movement for having used and advocated for art as a healing tool in life. Her alter ego as she calls is SKii the Mime making her also a performer. She is the author of the memoir Fallen, Standing: My Life as a Schizophrenist published by Women Unlimited/Kali for Women and she is also the protagonist of the award winning documentary by PSBT "A Drop of Sunshine" directed by Aparna Sanyal. Reshma Valliappan alongside Aparna Sanyal founded The Red Door in 2011 as they both believed that creativity is linked to spirituality and thus becomes the basis of living at ease with human suffering.
