Some players leave behind numbers.
Some leave behind an emotion.
For me, Shikhar Dhawan will always be remembered for the latter.

I have watched Gabbar walk onto the field with that unmistakable confidence, that fearless strokeplay and the ability to make even the biggest occasion feel like his own.

From his explosive beginnings to his unforgettable performances in ICC tournaments, Dhawan became one of India’s most dependable white-ball openers and a player who brought an infectious energy to the game.

When he announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on 24th August 2024, it felt like the closing of a chapter that had given Indian cricket so many wonderful memories.

I feel privileged to have preserved pieces of the journeys of players like Shikhar at Blades of Glory.

Because when a cricketer retires, the career ends.
But the memories don’t.

Thank you, Gabbar, for the runs, the celebrations and the countless moments that made us smile.
Your legacy will always have a place in Indian cricket.

Today, as Michael Clarke’s cricketing journey is remembered, I find myself thinking about the incredible legacy he left behind.

As a cricket lover and someone who has spent years preserving the game’s greatest memories, there is one piece of Clarke’s story that will always stand out to me.

329 against India at the SCG.

I still find it extraordinary to think about what that innings represented. The concentration, the class and the sheer scale of the achievement.
And today, I have the privilege of preserving the very bat that was part of that historic innings at Blades of Glory.

For me, holding or even standing beside a piece like this isn’t simply about owning memorabilia.
It is about holding a piece of cricket history.

Michael Clarke may have retired from the game, but the innings, the records and the memories he created will continue to inspire cricket lovers for generations.
I am proud that his legacy, especially that unforgettable 329*, has a place at Blades of Glory.

Some players leave behind records.
Some leave behind unforgettable memories.

And some leave behind pieces of history that allow us to relive those memories.
Michael Clarke gave us all three.

I still find it incredible that a man who created history with a bat in his hands would one day walk through the history I have tried to preserve.

In the MCC’s 200th anniversary match at Lord’s, Sunil Gavaskar produced a magnificent 188 against the Rest of the World. An innings filled with the patience, precision and class that made him one of India’s greatest ever batters.

What makes that memory even more special to me today is having the privilege of hosting Sunil Sir himself at Blades of Glory.

To see the Little Master walk through the museum, surrounded by pieces of cricket history, is an emotion that is difficult to put into words.

I have spent years collecting the stories of legends.

And then, sometimes, the legend himself walks through your doors.

His 188 at Lord’s remains part of cricket history.

His presence at Blades of Glory became part of mine.

Some memories are preserved in photographs.

Some are preserved in memorabilia.

And some, you are simply fortunate enough to live.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting the winners of our Father's Day Competition.

For me, moments like these are what make Blades of Glory truly special.

The museum is built around cricket, but at its heart, it is about people, memories and the emotions that bring us together. Seeing the excitement on the faces of our winners and sharing a few moments with them was incredibly rewarding.

A big congratulations once again to all our winners. I hope your visit to Blades of Glory gave you memories that you will cherish for a long time.

The nation that makes me proud.

I have always believed that building something meaningful is my way of contributing to India.

Through real estate, I have tried to build spaces where people can dream, grow and create a better life.

Through cricket, I have tried to build something different, preserving the stories, memories and legacies of the game that has brought millions of Indians together.

Two very different journeys, but one common purpose: to build something that outlives me.

I am proud to be an Indian, and I have never wanted that identity to be separate from anything I do.

Every building I help create, every piece of cricket history I preserve, every young person who walks into Blades of Glory and leaves inspired, carries a small part of that belief.

India has given me the opportunity to dream.
My responsibility is to give something back.

This Independence Day, I celebrate the nation that gave me my identity, my opportunities and the freedom to build my own journey.

I still remember the first time I realised that Sachin Tendulkar was going to be something truly extraordinary.

He was just 17 years and 112 days old when he scored his maiden Test century, an unbeaten 119 against England at Old Trafford in 1990.

India were in trouble. The match was slipping away. But this teenager stood there for two and a half hours alongside Manoj Prabhakar and refused to let India lose.

A 17-year-old Sachin had just saved a Test match for India.

Looking back today, knowing everything Sachin would go on to achieve, that innings feels even more special. It was one of those moments where you could see the beginning of greatness before the world had fully understood what it was witnessing.

For me, Sachin’s first century isn’t just a number in a record book.

It is the beginning of the story of the man who would eventually become the God of Cricket.

And preserving memories like this is exactly why I built Blades of Glory.

Some moments belong in history.

Some moments deserve to be preserved forever.
