Prof. Awad is a Professor at the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), where he previously coordinated the Master’s Program in Information Security.

His academic and research career spans institutions in the UAE, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, with extensive work across cybersecurity, network security, IoT security, AI for cybersecurity, biometrics, and medical imaging.

Prof. Awad has authored and co-authored numerous research publications and has contributed to several academic books in his areas of expertise. He has also been recognised among the top 2% of influential scientists worldwide and serves on the editorial boards of leading international journals in cybersecurity, computing, IoT, and information systems.

As an IEEE Senior Member and ACM Professional Member, Prof. Awad brings deep academic, research, and industry-relevant perspectives to the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
