As part of our World Heart Day awareness initiative, Apollo Hospitals Rourkela organised an Awareness & Interactive Session for the General Public at Rourkela Club on 26 September 2026, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 125+ attendees.
The session became truly engaging as participants actively interacted with our cardiac care team, discussed heart-health concerns and gained practical insights on prevention, nutrition and timely medical intervention.
The programme featured Dr Tripti Talapatra, Sr. Consultant, Cardiac Surgeon, and Ms Subhanwita Maiti, Chief Dietitian, Apollo Hospitals Rourkela. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Akhil Jain, Chief Operating Officer.

From Fear of Surgery to the Confidence to Walk Again
A female patient suffering from severe knee pain and difficulty in walking had been hesitant and afraid to undergo surgery. Her condition was affecting her mobility and everyday activities.
After proper counselling and clinical evaluation, she underwent Total Knee Replacement surgery under the care of Dr Barun Kumar at Apollo Hospitals, Rourkela.
Following the procedure and rehabilitation, she has regained confidence in her movement and is now able to walk more comfortably—turning her fear into renewed hope and independence.
