Whispers of Wisdom, Echoes of Joy: Ganesh Chaturthi at DPS Sohna
Celebrating the richness of our traditions, DPS Sohna marked Ganesh Chaturthi with devotion, joy and a beautiful sense of togetherness.
The morning began with our young learners chanting the auspicious Ganesha Mantra, creating an atmosphere of peace and devotion. The celebration then came alive through a beautiful roleplay by our teachers, bringing the cherished story of Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya to life with warmth, expression and creativity.
Through this engaging presentation, the children discovered that true wisdom lies not only in knowledge, but also in understanding, love and respect.
The celebration culminated in a traditional pooja, with our Principal and teachers joining the children in offering prayers to Lord Ganesha, seeking blessings for wisdom, learning and new beginnings.
At DPS Sohna, we believe that festivals offer children a meaningful way to connect with their cultural roots and learn beyond the classroom. Through prayer, storytelling and the creative efforts of our teachers, the celebration became a memorable experience filled with joy, reflection and togetherness.

SPOTLIGHT | The Smiles Beyond the Stage
While our little ones had their moment under the spotlight, some of the most beautiful expressions were in the audience.
Proud smiles, spontaneous applause and eyes following every little move, our parents and grandparents experienced each performance almost as closely as the children on stage.
Their presence was especially meaningful because the story of ‘ME to WE’ begins at home. It is within families that children first experience belonging, encouragement, sharing and togetherness.
As our young learners took their first steps onto the SPOTLIGHT stage, having their families there made those moments a little more confident and the memories even more precious.
A beautiful reminder that every little wonder grows surrounded by many hearts.

SPOTLIGHT | Encouraging Every Little Wonder
The presence of those who encourage, appreciate and inspire can make every little achievement feel even more special.
At DPS Sohna’s first thematic assembly, we were delighted to welcome Ms Shirley Jacob Das, veteran educationist and former Principal, as the Chief Guest, and Ms Monika Jain, educationist, artist and member of the School Advisory Board, as the Guest of Honour.
As our young learners took the stage, our guests shared in their special moments, appreciating their creativity, expression and enthusiasm. Their warm interactions and encouraging words added a beautiful dimension to an afternoon centred on celebrating the little wonders within every child.
For our young learners, being seen, appreciated and encouraged by those they look up to made their moments on stage even more meaningful.
A little encouragement can make a little wonder shine even brighter.

SPOTLIGHT: The Little Wonders That Make Us Whole
Every child carries a little world within, filled with dreams, questions, imagination and endless possibilities. As they grow, they discover that no one grows alone. Family, school and the wider community help shape who they become.
On 3 September 2026, Delhi Public School, Sohna presented its first-ever thematic assembly, ‘SPOTLIGHT: Celebrating the Little Wonders Within Us’, exploring the beautiful transition from “ME” to “WE”.
The school’s Head Girl, Arsh*ta, warmly welcomed parents and grandparents, setting the tone for an afternoon of togetherness. Through storytelling, music, dance and heartfelt performances, our young learners celebrated family, discovered school as an extension of home and recognised the many helping hands that enrich their world.
We were honoured by our Chief Guest, Ms Shirley Jacob Das, veteran educationist and former Principal, and Guest of Honour, Ms Monika Jain, educationist, artist and member of the School Advisory Board. Ms Monika spoke about creativity in shaping confident, expressive learners, while appreciating the teachers and their influence in shaping young lives as Teachers’ Day approached.
Addressing the gathering, our Principal, Dr Shalini Bindra, spoke about celebrating every child for who they are, not against a benchmark of perfection, but for their individuality, curiosity and joy. She reminded us that every performance is an opportunity to learn, express and grow in confidence.
The presentation culminated in a heartfelt grand finale to ‘Taare Zameen Par’, as pride and emotion filled the eyes of parents and grandparents. For our young learners, it was an opportunity to shine. For families, a moment to see how much their children are growing. For teachers, a celebration of the children they nurture. And for DPS Sohna, a beautiful beginning to a tradition that celebrates every child.
Because alone, we are ME.
Together, we are WE.

Threads of Love, Bonds of Protection | Rakshabandhan at DPS Sohna
The children of Montessori to Balvatika III celebrated Rakshabandhan by exploring the beautiful spirit of love, gratitude and protection at the heart of the festival.
Our little ones began by lovingly tying rakhis to our Principal, Dr Shalini Bindra, expressing their affection and appreciation for the care and guidance she extends to them.
The celebration then travelled beyond the school gates. Each child brought a rakhi from home, which was sent to our local police station along with a handmade card created collectively by the children. Through this thoughtful gesture, they extended their gratitude to the officers who protect and serve our community every day.
At DPS Sohna, we believe that values take root when children have opportunities to practise them. Initiatives like these encourage our youngest learners to notice those who care for and protect them, recognise their contribution and express their gratitude in meaningful ways. In these small acts, children begin to understand that empathy, kindness and appreciation are not simply taught, but lived.
Because raising caring children means teaching them not only to receive love and protection, but to recognise it, value it and give it back.

The First Teachers’ Day: A Celebration from the Heart
DPS Sohna celebrated its first Teachers’ Day with a morning filled with warmth, gratitude and the unmistakable affection of children who wanted their teachers to know just how much they mean to them.
Hosted by the newly instituted Student Council, the assembly ensured every teacher felt seen and celebrated. A vibrant dance, beautiful cards and handmade badges with personalised titles chosen by the students made the celebration deeply personal.
Our young learners took the stage with confidence and affection, making the very first Teachers’ Day of DPS Sohna truly memorable.
In his Teachers’ Day wishes, our Pro Vice Chairman, Mr Rohit Jainendra Jain, reminded teachers that it is they who inspire us to scale our dreams. Ms Monika Jain, Member of the Advisory Board, reflected on the role of teachers in nurturing young minds, values, confidence and aspirations.
Our Principal, Dr Shalini Bindra, appreciated the effort that went into making the celebration so thoughtful. She spoke of how every teacher is already becoming a part of the DPS Sohna legacy and how the traditions we begin today will become the stories that define our school tomorrow.
The Principal also presented a card to each teacher, adding a personal touch to the appreciation. The celebration concluded with a sumptuous lunch shared by the teaching team.
Our first Teachers’ Day was more than a celebration. It was a glimpse of the culture we are building together, where gratitude is expressed, effort is noticed and every teacher is helping write the first chapters of the DPS Sohna story.
This Teachers’ Day, our teachers became learners — drawing inspiration from the timeless wisdom of the Master Guru, Lord Krishna. 🦚✨
The teams of DPS Greater Faridabad, DPS Surajkund and DPS Sohna came together at Yashobhoomi to experience Krishna by Manoj Muntashir — an evening of powerful storytelling, music and lessons that transcend time.
A beautiful reminder that those who teach also continue to learn, reflect and grow.
A heartfelt thank you to Books-en-Beyond for making this special Teachers’ Day experience possible for our teams.
And we ended the evening with the call that brought everyone together — Radhe Radhe! 🙏✨

Happy Teachers’ Day! 🌿
A teacher’s influence goes far beyond lessons and classrooms. It lives on in the curiosity they awaken, the confidence they nurture and the values they help shape.
On Teachers’ Day, the Delhi Public School family – Greater Faridabad, Surajkund and Sohna pays tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and celebrates every educator who continues to inspire young minds with knowledge, wisdom and purpose.
To all our teachers, thank you for making every lesson count and every learner believe in what they can become.
Wishing all educators a very Happy Teachers’ Day!

Celebrating Janmashtami: Stories, Values and the Joy of Krishna
Janmashtami brought our school community together in an atmosphere of devotion, joy and reflection as the DPS Sohna family gathered for a prayer and Janmashtami aarti, seeking the blessings of Lord Krishna.
We were honoured to have Ms Monika Jain, artist, educationist and member of the Advisory Board of DPS Sohna, and Ms Shirley Jacob Das, renowned educationist, grace the Janmashtami aarti alongside our Principal, Dr Shalini Bindra, in seeking the blessings of Lord Krishna.
The celebration extended to the entire school, where all our students, along with the Principal, Headmistress, teachers and the entire administrative team came together to gently rock Bal Krishna’s palna, sharing in this beautiful tradition and the joy it brought to our young learners.
Through stories from Krishna’s childhood and glimpses of his timeless wisdom, our children discovered that festivals can be more than celebrations. They can open little hearts to values such as love, kindness, courage and compassion.
The day was filled with shared smiles and moments of togetherness as children experienced the joy of celebrating a cherished tradition with their school family.
At DPS Sohna, we believe that culture and values come alive when children experience them with joy, curiosity and a sense of belonging. It was a beautiful day of devotion, joyful learning and togetherness, carrying the spirit of Krishna into our hearts and our everyday actions.
