‘Not against development in Sonawari, Hajin, but it must benefit people’: Imtiyaz Parray

Hajin: Senior Apni Party leader Imtiyaz Parray on Saturday said he was not opposed to development in Sonawari and Hajin, but stressed that developmental works should serve the interests of the general public rather than benefit any particular individual.
“I welcome wherever development takes place in Sonawari and Hajin, but it must be for the general public and not at an individual level,” Parray said.
He said development should be inclusive and aimed at addressing the needs of the people, particularly by improving basic infrastructure and public services.
Parray maintained that there was no opposition to development initiatives as long as they were undertaken in the larger public interest and the benefits reached the people at large.
He also emphasised the need for a people-centric approach to development in Sonawari and Hajin, saying public interest should remain the primary consideration in all such projects.

NC Hajin Unit Rejects Allegations, Says Public Funds Being Utilised Transparently

Hajin: The National Conference (NC) unit Hajin has rejected the allegations levelled by Apni Party, asserting that the Omar Abdullah-led government is committed to equitable development and transparent utilisation of public funds across Sonawari.

Reacting to Apni Party statement, the NC unit said that public funds, including UT/District Capex and CDF, are being utilised strictly in accordance with rules and established procedures, with development works being prioritised on the basis of public needs.
The party said that attempts to give a political colour to developmental funding were unfortunate and aimed at creating confusion among the people.
“The people of Hajin and Sonawari are mature enough to distinguish between genuine development work and political rhetoric. Public funds are not being diverted for the benefit of any individual or cadre. Every work is taken up through the prescribed process and for the welfare of the people,” the NC unit said.
The unit further maintained that the present government remains focused on addressing long-pending developmental issues and ensuring that every area receives its due share of development.
“If anyone has specific evidence of misuse or diversion of funds, they should place it before the concerned authorities instead of making general allegations,” the party said, adding that the NC remains committed to accountability, transparency and development in Sonawari.

Imtiyaz Parray vows to oppose ‘political injustice’ in Hajin, Sonawari

Hajin: Senior Apni Party leader Imtiyaz Parray has said that he will not remain silent against what he termed “attempted political injustices” with the people of Hajin and Sonawari.
In a statement, Parray said that neither he nor his companions would allow the general public to be deprived of their rightful grants for the benefit of political cadres and workers.
“UT/District Capex, CDF and other public funds are not anybody’s personal funds to be used to fill the coffers of relatives, supporters and friends,” Parray said.
He maintained that such funds belong to taxpayers and the general public and should be utilised strictly for public welfare.
“I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that these funds are used for the people and not for personal or political interests, no matter what the cost,” he said.
