Not all gallstones are the same. Here’s how to tell them apart:

🔴 Acute calculous cholecystitis

· Stone (often at the neck)
· Distended GB + edematous wall
· ↑ Wall vascularity, pericholecystic fluid
· Pain, Murphy sign, ↑ CRP

⚪ Simple GB stone

· Stone present
· No inflammation signs
· Mild or no symptoms

🟡 Chronic calculous cholecystitis

· Stone present
· Thickened but non-edematous wall
· No acute inflammation, GB not distended
